Golden Chick — Restaurant in Copperas Cove

Driving around with the family we decided to stop by this Coppers Coce location. The two employees appeared extremely busy so we waited. When they noticed us the cashier began to explain that they were short staffed (that's putting it lightly) and they would be right with us. We didn't mind waiting so we sat down and just chatted as we watched them literally running to make orders. I went to the front and emphasized to him to not worry and to take his time as we understood their reasons and we were the only in the lobby. He thanked us politely and immediately returned to finish orders. When he was done, he took our orders, upgraded our drinks for the kind wait and served us at our table. The food was perfect. It was fresh, piping hot and the rolls were shiny and soft, the chicken juicy! The cashier later explained that he was the new General Manager (GM) Donald S. and the drive through employee, Ray who was working just as hard to get the orders out. They were communicating, describing the customer's as Miss and Sir even if the customers weren't aware. I found that refreshing. Like true gentleman that nodded in recognition of their customers needs and always smiled despite the stress, never allowing their customs to feel anything but the pleasure of fresh food. These type of rare employees should be rewarded. The GM even credited his employees with helping him learn the ropes as he was new which is very humble and I'm certain, appreciated by them. What a respectable place to work. Thank you gentleman for all your hard work. It is certainly appreciated and we will be returning with friends and family.

I was so excited to get a golden chick in Cove. I like many ignored the negative reviews and thought let me give them a try. I have never been so upset with a fast food experience ever.

FOOD QUALITY: HORRIBLE! the chicken was not done AT ALL it was still pink! Bread was over cooked in dry. The macaroni had a weird chemical taste. Green beans might as well be green beans soup. PORTION SIZE: if you decide to get a side offered please note current personal side size is disrespectful the bowl is half the size and barely filled half way. SERVICE: The individual taking my order in the drive through may have been having a bad day. But based off my experience with them being at work was not a place they were happy to be and taking my order was the last thing they wanted to be...

Went to the drive through ordered the 6 piece shrimp combo, wanted okra as the side cooked extra. They messed up the order removing the drink adding extra okra we didn't order and then charged us for a drink. The gravy for the 6 tender meal looked like tapioca. I wanted tartar sauce with the shrimp and did not get it. Wanted bbq sauce and didn't get that either. The chicken was not good the breading fell off and was wet, the rolls tasted old. Just for 6 piece shrimp, 6 tender meal and 3 extra tenders with a side of Colslaw cost me 41.39 and we threw the meal away. My pit bull would not even eat the chicken.
