REAL, FLAKY, BUTTERY CROISSANTS. Excuse my yelling, but it's imperative that you know where you can find the real deal.
It's a never ending quest for real croissants in my life, and the few that exist in Miami deserve true praise. A croissant should be so good on it's own that you don't have to order it toasted or buttered or filled or anything. Just eat it alone and cry if you must, it's okay. Chocolate Fashion nails all the croissants.
I also appreciate their fresh squeezed OJ, which should be standard everywhere in Florida.
Also love their scones, quiche, cookies, petit fours, macaroons and pretty much everything they make because they really know what they're doing.
I've also catered holiday meals from them for Thanksgiving & Christmas that were epic crowd pleasers. My family may or may not know who really did the cooking, but that's besides the point.
All of chocolate fashion's locations stock their authentic pastries, but this one, the original, is...
Read moreThe service here is terrible! This is the first time ever that we have been asked to get up from a table! My wife and I came here for the first time for breakfast. They only had one table for 4 people available. We sat there and, when we're getting ready to order, a very rude waiter named Oscar asked us to get up because that table is only for 4 people. When I asked him if he knew that what he was doing was a very rude and a very poor decision, he said that the orders come from the top (Persi, the owner). I politely asked him if I could speak with the owner, and he said that she was not in. I informed Oscar that this was extremely rude and that we were going to talk to the owner and also write reviews about this very demeaning experience, to which he replied in a very standoffish way, "you can do whatever you like, these are the instructions we have from the owner." Guess if we're ever...
Read moreGO SOMEWHERE ELSE! When we visited this place this weekend we were surprised about all the glaring reviews. We have tried most of the highly recommended breakfast places in Coral Gables and Coconut Grove. We would rank Chocolate Fashion at the bottom of the list. Main reasons: 1. Horrible service! Wait staff are very unpolite, pushy and argumentative, 2. Food and baked goods are, at best, average (nothing special), 3. Coffee is horrible (breakfast place with bad coffee, really?), 4. Grossly overpriced, and 5. Facilities are not very clean and very uncomfortable (interior and exterior). The seating on the sidewalk and on the road are plagued with flies (disgusting!). Coincidentally, we talked about our disappointing experience with a few other friends that had been there, and their opinion is very similar. With so many great choices in the area, we are most definitely not...
