Was very pleasantly surprised that the food we ordered was great. The service was excellent, too. However, the drinks were not very good.
First, the food. We ordered las patatas bravas which was topped with tuna tartare and the combination worked. For entrees the squid ink risotto was cooked nicely and well-seasoned, though the shellfish were just a bit on the fishy side. The short rib was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, without being overly fatty or salty. To top off our meal, we ordered the hazelnut tiramisu and it was really, really lovely and a nice-sized portion, too - very filling and satisfying.
As far as the drinks go, we tried the white sangra, and it was too sweet. We tried the red sangria, which we were told was much more dry with a touch of raspberry simple syrup or something like that. It was also way too sweet for our liking and resembled no sangria I’ve tried. I then ordered the mezcal negroni, no-go. Too sweet. My friend stuck to wine, a pretty much solid choice.
I was going to take off 2 stars for the drinks, but the service was so good that it made up for it. Very pleasant reception from the hostess and attentive servers who very clearly want to make customers have a good dining experience. At the end of the meal, while bringing our bill, our astute server noticed my Negroni had remained untouched and commented “oh it seems you weren’t a fan of your drink” and removed the charge from our bill, which was not necessary but was very much appreciated.
Nice ambience, comfortable seating. A little tight, not sure if someone with a wheelchair would be able to pass into the main dining area all that comfortably but I could be wrong. A little loud but you can still hold a conversation. Would recommend and...
Read moreMy husband and I dined here recently, this was our second time at Vinya Table. Our first experience was excellent which prompted our second visit. We wanted to try their Miami Spice menu.
The food was great however, when I made the reservations I alerted the restaurant that my husband has a severe nut allergy. We also spoke to the waiter and he said it wasn't a problem. We selected the short rib and butternut squash ravioli for our entree, which did come with walnuts. The waiter said it wouldn't be an issue to order it without walnuts. Sure enough the ravioli came doused in walnuts. We had to return the dish and they remade it.
Next came the dessert. We ordered the coconut ice cream and the pavlova. The waiter told us they had run out of the pavlova and that we could choose an alternative. EVERY alternative had nuts. The carrot cake- had nuts, the chocolate lava cake- had hazelnut, and the only other option was the HAZLENUT tiramisu. Finally, we just asked for a rum ice cream and they were OUT. We were stuck with a mascarpone ice cream that my husband did not like as a substitution for the dessert. The restaurant did not compensate us in any way after carelessly adding an allergen to our food AND not providing any viable options for their Miami spice dessert menu. We were very disappointed with our experience and not sure...
Read moreI had high hopes for this beautiful restaurant, but unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. While the waitstaff was friendly, they seemed to be avoiding us throughout the evening, despite the restaurant being nearly empty. It took over 15 minutes just to order drinks, which left us feeling skeptical. The smoked burrata and grilled artichokes were fine, but the pasta dishes—cacio e pepe and clams with linguine—were underwhelming. We noticed that our food had been sitting under heat lamps for a while before being served, while the waitstaff focused on other tasks instead of bringing our order. The clams and linguine had an unpleasant gooey texture, an off-putting smell, and a gritty consistency that resembled sand. I immediately spit it out to avoid feeling sick, and my partner agreed it was not right. When we asked for the check, I mentioned the issue with the dish, and I appreciate that they removed it from the bill. While I’m grateful for their response, the overall experience left me very disappointed, and I won’t be returning. They also automatically charged us a “large party service fee” of 20%.” We were a party of two…. Thankfully, we had...
