Coral Springs, FL. Five stars for being a bit more authentic than usual in this neighborhood. Music, decor and menu were in line with what we’ve encountered at good Mexican restaurants in San Diego and Texas. The music was accordion-based while we were there. And it was super clean! Our host and server were very sweet and prompt. They have a huge menu and in the middle you will find their great lunch specials. I thought the prices were exceptional for what we got for lunch (the #1Enchilada and Taco Combination Platter for Steve and a huge Rancho Salad with Barbacoa Chicken for me). Their complimentary chips and salsa were good. The salsa tasted like Goya tomato sauce with salt, pepper, minced white onions and minced green onions. No cilantro or cumin or oregano, and I prefer my salsa without cumin or oregano. Steve inhaled everything on his plate! So the beans, rice and guacamole garnish were also good. He got a ground beef taco and chicken enchilada. He said he wished he’d gotten a chicken taco, the chicken was better. My Rancho Salad was amazing! It had great lettuce, tender shredded chicken in a Barbacoa sauce, pico de gallo with cilantro in it, beans and shredded lettuce. I used the complimentary salsa as a dressing. They had tables outside, too. A note for Californians: If you’re used to the whole taco being deep fried with all the fillings in it, that was not the case here. The taco shell was crisp. That didn’t make a difference to Steve. It tasted great.

Horrible experience. Everything was fine but then the check came and they upcharged for the margarita & lunch special in order to benefit their check. They stated the margaritas that qualify for happy hour are non-flavored. The board outside does not specify that at all, to again trick you to buy the most expensive one. The server did not notify us at all of what qualified and did not warn us either. They also charged more for something that was on the lunch special and stated we didn’t point it out to them RUDELY?? Like excuse me you’re the server? When we complained, we were told there are no managers present until 5pm, IF WE WANTED TO WAIT FOR THE MANAGER until 5 pm RUDELY, like what place has no manager or person who can void the transaction, said they would be charged the plate we were trying to get off take off the check, how is that possible? Not empathetic at all. Horrible horrible experience never go!!!! NEVER GO!!!

The wait staff was very friendly. The staff brought over chips and salsa. The chips were crunchy and savory - the way a good chip ought to be. The salsa, however, had almost no tomato in it. It consisted primarily of onions, chives, cilantro and liquid of some form. It wasn't good for scooping with the chips (an activity i look forward to most at Mexican restaurants). Salsa is like the marinara of Mexican food. If that's not good, the rest will probably disappoint I ordered the "super burrito" with chicken. What i received was not inedible, but also not that enjoyable (if I'm being honest). The rice was over-cooked, and was doused in some kind liquid - not unlike the salsa. The chicken burrito - which has much more tomato than the salsa, might I add - was primarily what i assume to be canned chicken. It was stringy and not all that flavorful. The portion was large, but the quality suggests that management is trying to pinch pennies.

I ordered a house margarita. It was pretty good! I wanted to try a frozen margarita while i was there, so after my first marg i ordered one. Why not, I thought, I'm not driving. I can attest that the pre- mixed frozen marg is MUCH STRONGER than the one that was served to me on the rocks. If you want the bang for your buck, get that frozen marg, people!

The ambiance in the restaurant is pretty inviting. There are televisions with various sporting events (no cricket, sorry).

All in all, i can't say i would recommend this place as it was tonight. The food was so so and didn't leave me wanting to come back.

I'm not trying to be negative. I enjoy my local mom and pops. I hope the constructive criticism can bring about change in...

I have been to this restaurant multiple times.. Very disappointed for various reasons on different visits. From the condescending and rude waiter Ever, to barely there portions of rice and beans (is what it is, can pay for extra), to the Palmetto bug/roach crawling across the table as observed by others in my party, to the uninformed/assumptive/neglective wait staff (on 10/3 0rdered bottled beer to start.. wasn't asked but the waitress brought out frosted glasses anyway, which went unused.. a waste. Ordered the fajita quesadilla - was supposed to come with rice, Pico, lettuce, guac, and sour cream. Guac and rice were MIA and pico barely there.. Had to used the runny salsa provided at seating as waitress didn't check on us much.. When she did, I asked about the rice, was told it didn't come with, yet is clearly stated on the menu). Have been going under protest (due to past experiences & disappointment), as my partner loves their super burrito.. Been there FIVE times and they haven't failed yet to disappoint in some way.. I've worked in the restaurant industry before and this was not only unacceptable, was the last straw. I might be persuaded to go to their palm beach location just to see if they're suffering from the same...
