Warning!!! Moon Thai & Japanese (Coral Springs) is serving leftovers from the previous day and HEATING it up in the MICROWAVE instead of cooking freshly prepared dishes at the time of the order. I know from experience, and I'm referring to at least 20 times, that the Chicken Pad Thai always takes 7 to 10 minutes if it's freshly prepared. I want the ingredients from my order to be combined in a pan and cooked at a proper temperature on some type of normal heating element. This has not been an issue for many years, but now things have changed. The only difference this time was arriving early in the afternoon and not in the evening as I normally do. My plate of Chicken Pad Thai was brought to my table in LESS THAN 2 MINUTES after placing the order. The food temp was slightly warm and I should have realized what was happening right away. But the telltale sign was the blazing "hot spot" right in the middle of the plate, which everyone knows that microwave hot spots and uneven heating are trademark characteristics of microwave use. The person I dined with always orders California Tuna Sushi Roll. And we know from experience, again, at least 20 times, that their sushi is always ready about 5 minutes before the Chicken Pad Thai. But not this time. This time it was exactly the opposite. The tuna pieces in the sushi roll lacked any type of vibrant color, and in fact, they appeared to look charcoal gray. This is Strike #2. Our server was Alex who put in NO effort to making sure we had napkins, that I had utensils, and never checked on drinks, as he chose to relax in a chair at the Sushi Station in the back. And now we have Strike #3. I am not surprised by the ever-present abdominal pain and digestive issues I'm experiencing since leaving the restaurant. So they saved money by serving me old food while losing a regular customer, and at the same time proving that there's no concern for the customer's overall health and well-being. Use my info as an advanced warning, and please do yourself a favor by thinking about this experience before making a...
Read moreThe food can be a bit pricey but it is of great quality. There is a large amount to choose from, especially when it comes to sushi. I have yet to have a bad meal or service (and I have gone a number of times). If you have a shellfish allergy let them know in advance (keep in mind imitation crab, which is used in several rolls, can trigger such allergies). I myself am allergic to shellfish and never feel like I do not have a choice when it comes to types of sushi to choose from. Strangely though I feel like the meal boxes (they have two types) have gotten smaller. In general feel incredibly limited in what they have to offer so I likely won't get it again. If you want multiple types of sushi I recommend splitting assorted sashimis and a sushi roll order. If you're not averse to splitting you can get a diverse selection of food for a great price. The Thai food there is excellent and makes for a great meal (or two if you like leftovers). The desserts are different from what you may be used to (in a good way). I recommend the Thai donuts. When it comes to drink selections, they have more than enough for many tastes. The prices are reasonable and in some cases fairly cheap. Enjoy.
EDIT: upon going to Bluefin, another sushi place nearby, I can confirm that the Moon cheats you out on portion sizes a bit. For similar prices you get more sushi there and of comparable quality. The sushi at The Moon is great however I do not think I will be going as often here upon...
Read moreSo i tried to order online via UberEats a $19 Pad Thai that already includes Chicken and shrimp and I selected the extra beef option for $1.50 more (which to me is already expensive) After waiting over 30 mins wondering where my food was, I went to verify in the app and saw that the restaurant cancelled my order without notifying me. I called them immediately to see what was going on and girl on the phone stated that she cancelled my order bc she adding bee is $4.00 more. My order is already $25 including Tax and now the want it to go to $30. When i advised her about the price advertised and how she has to honor it. She states that she was placing me on hold to verify. But instead of placing me on hold, the girl hung up on me. So i called her back and told her she hung up on me and she told me she couldn't honor the price. She admitted to me that she did not even check online bc her system would not allow the change. Like are you crazy. I'm not paying that much. This would have been my first order with them and I'm glad they cancelled it or else I would have never known about TAMARAC THAI & SUSHI's Pad Thai Chicken, Shrimp, and Beef for $20 Total. Let this be a lesson to you Moon Thai & Japanese Restaurant. Don't get greedy. Specially not in Florida where minimum wage is $8.46 USD and hour. We got bigger bills to pay than $30 a plate for lunch. And make sure you practice what you preach. Don't advertise something that you're not...
