My Review of NY Pizza Place in Parkland/Coral Springs
I was excited to try NY Pizza Place, a new spot in the area that seemed promising at first glance. Unfortunately, my first experience with them—especially their delivery service—was disappointing.
On Friday, February 7th, I placed an order over the phone at 5:00 PM, requesting delivery for 6:30 PM to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday. The order included: Two large cheese pizzas One small gluten-free pizza Two orders of Buffalo wings
By 6:45 PM, the food still hadn’t arrived. When I called to check, I was told that they had been trying to find a driver but were unsuccessful. What frustrated me most was that no one reached out to inform me of the issue —I had to call them myself to find out.
Since I live only 5-7 minutes away, I offered to pick it up. When I arrived, I was pleased with the restaurant’s ambiance—the place looked nice, and the staff was friendly. The food I saw being served in the restaurant also looked good.
However, when I asked about my order, I specifically requested a fresh batch. The response I got was disappointing: “It looks decently fresh, but if you want a new order, it’ll take about 45 minutes.”
At this point, I had people waiting at home, so waiting another 45 minutes wasn’t an option. I took the order as it was and left.
When I got home at 7:05 PM, I opened the food to find: Cold, soggy pizza that looked like it had been sitting out for over an hour Dry wings that lacked flavor and moisture Overall, a meal that was nowhere near fresh
I tried salvaging it by reheating it, but it just made things worse. Ultimately, we had to throw the wings in the microwave, add some Buffalo sauce we had in the fridge, and ended up ordering from Hungry Howie’s instead.
This experience ruined our night. I understand that new places have growing pains, but failing to communicate a major issue like this and then providing stale food instead of making it right is not acceptable.
That said, I might give them another chance for dine-in since the food in the restaurant looked promising. If I do, I’ll update my review. For now, I wouldn’t recommend ordering delivery.
If anyone else has tried this place for dine-in, let me know how your...
Read moreI recently visited this Italian restaurant that promised authentic Italian flavors, but what I encountered was nothing short of a culinary nightmare. The entire operation was a one-trick microwave show—a so-called "Chef oven microwave" used for every single dish. I ordered multiple items, and instead of fresh, lovingly prepared food, I was treated to a series of pre-packaged, pre-refrigerated, and lazily microwaved meals.
First, I watched in disbelief as they prepared the spaghetti. Instead of a freshly cooked pasta dish, they simply grabbed a Ziploc bag of pre-made spaghetti from the refrigerator and dumped it into the microwave. Once it was “cooked,” they added some meatballs that had apparently been pre-cooked elsewhere. Then came the chicken cutlet for the chicken parm, microwaved like it was nothing more than reheated leftovers, and garlic rolls that were stale and cold.
The most appalling part? Out of the four items I ordered, three came out ice-cold—even after a so-called reheating cycle—leaving my meal half-frozen and utterly unappetizing. The bread was no better: stale, old, and lacking any warmth or freshness.
In short, this place is a disaster. If you’re looking for genuine, flavorful Italian food, steer clear of this restaurant. The shortcuts in preparation are painfully obvious, and the quality is shockingly low. I highly recommend finding somewhere that values fresh, properly prepared dishes over a mediocre...
Read moreFor the record, I am from NJ originally and spent much of my single post-college adult life in NYC in either Manhattan or Brooklyn. So I am no stranger to all things hailing from NYC, the only noteworthy part of NY state.
I ordered a slice of pepperoni pizza to see if the 5-star reviews held up or was it the 1-star reviews.
The service staff were professional and nice. The appearance of the pizza was good. It was piping hot and came out within minutes of my placing the order. It was not burnt.
But as you can see in the picture, the pepperoni was very small and sparsely placed around the pizza slice. The pepperoni had no flavor. It might as well not have been there.
The crust was decent. The cheese did not seem right. It did not even taste like real mozzarella. And the cheese did not come off the pizza like real mozzarella. It was like some synthetic thing.
The sauce was absolutely flavorless. Apparently, the originator of the sauce was from Staten Island. But for people who have been to NYC frequently enough, Staten Island is the black sheep 5th borough of NYC that all New Yorkers are ashamed to admit is a part of NYC. So that may explain why the sauce was so lacking in everything except its color.
Overall, for a $5 pizza slice, it was so not worth it. I won’t be going here again because there are better pizza places within 1-2 miles...
