I wish I could give this place higher than one star, but an experience speaks more volumes about a restaurant than the food. I’ve been to this restaurant more than once, but my last experience will be my final visit. I went to the resturaunt with several friends on a Friday night. When we arrived, only 2 other people were eating inside. It was fairly empty. Three of us ordered pizza, one of us ordered a calzone. After about 20 minutes the food came out, everything looked great but the cheese inside the calzone was still cold. We guessed it was so much thick cheese it didn’t have time to warm up. Not upset, we nicely asked to send it back. They obliged. About 15 minutes later, another calzone came back. The same problem: the cheese was cold. Each one of us at the table personally touched it, and all agreed it was not right. This time, we changed the order and asked for a simple pizza. They obliged saying “that’s weird, sorry.” After waiting another 20 minutes, the pizza finally arrived and the last person at the table was able to actually eat. As we sat there, we were a little upset by the service and their failure to rightfully apologize or offer to make the experience right or better. So when it came time to pay, I chose to ask the waiter if we can have a moment to speak. Because I liked the place so much, I wanted them to know about how we felt about the service and give them insight into how to make it better for future issues such as this. I wasn’t asking for free food and have every intention of paying the bill. As I was engaging in normal, kind discussion with the waiter, the pizza maker came out from behind the counter and began yelling at me, getting in my face and pointing his finger extremely close to me. He was saying “what’s your problem? There was nothing wrong with the calzone.. pay your f* bill... how about you just don’t come back?” And so on and so forth as I calmly stood there and told him all I wished to do was share my thoughts. My debit card was right in my hand. I asked to speak with the owner, as he is simply the son of the owner, and the owner refused to come out and speak with me directly. The man, who I believed is named Robby, continued to yell and be aggressive in front of an entire restaurant of people at this point, as the room had begun to fill up. The waiter apologized repreatedly, she was very kind and clearly embarrassed, and told us to not worry about the check and just leave. Overall, I will not be coming back to this restaurant and would highly suggest that no one does until the pizza maker, Robby, leaves or gets an attitude check. There are other reviews of similar interactions with him (on Yelp) which proves that he doesn’t know decent hospitality. It’s too bad because the food is good, but terrible service leaves a bad taste in...
Read moreI have had this on my bucket list for a very long time. I have read reviews and seen the photos and awards and the chef trained by the President of the Associazone Pizzaiuoli Napoletani. Walking in there was going to be Utopia. I was expecting pizza like no other. The pizza was good. They are hundreds of feet away from Mellow Mushroom and Anthony's and maybe 1/4 mile from Luigis. I didn't find this place that much better than Anthony's or Luigis. Now where this place excels is in ambience, experience, and their other plates. I have never had better mozzarella anywhere, ever. The prosciutto was amazing. Everything was darn good but I wish my expectations were not as high because of my research into this place. The prices for the pizza were between reasonable and slightly elevated based on the size. Only two people can eat their pizza and not be starved. But even then, it isn't enough technically. So you tend to want an appetizer, which are really good but darn expensive. The bill was $80 for 3 people. Two pies, two wines, and a soda. The seating is a little tight in some areas...
Read moreI’ve been wanting to try this place for sometime based on a TikTok page I follow … but I was extremely disappointed. I ordered a pizza and salad for pickup, got there about 15 mins after I ordered. It was a margarita pizza. I decided to taste it in the car and it was was lukewarm. Margarita pizzas have about 3 ingredients, it was missing one them, the basil. After realizing this, I went back in and they gave me basil to sprinkle on it. It was also a gluten free pizza and the dough was terrible. Slimy tasting and hard, the crust was also too burnt, literally bitter tasting. The salad was very small and I paid $10 extra for shrimp. I was told it was the extra large shrimp, literally normal size and only 4 shrimps and they were over cooked and very hard. Paid $43 for a small pizza and a small salad with 4 pieces of over cooked shrimp. I really wish I could get my $ back because it was definitely not worth it. I’ve been to many pizza places that serve gluten free pizza and salads that have been really good. This place is overpriced and not...
