My 9 year old picked this restaurant to celebrate her birthday. We have been frequent customers for the past 3year. I called ahead to ask if I could bring an ice cream cake and if they would be able to store it in the freezer? I was told absolutely no problem. We purchased the ice cream cake next door at Publix and came directly to the restaurant. We were greeted at the door and a gentleman held his hands out for the cake and said he’d put it in the freezer. Our waiter Boris M was amazing. After we consumed our food I asked for the cake. When the cake arrived to the table it was completely melted, the #9 candle wouldn’t even stand up. We sang happy birthday and I severed the 3 kids cake. The cake turned into soup on the plates immediately. I grab the cake take it to the waiter ask him to put it in the freezer until we were ready to go. As I walked back to the table there was a trail of ice cream all over the floor and table. As I cleaned the table Boris M came back and said I’m so sorry they put the cake in the refrigerator not the freezer. He said he know a ice cream cake needs to go in the freezer. I asked for the manager to see how we could rectify the situation. Jorge( manager) comes over. I been to tell him that the cake was ruined he cuts me off and says they didn’t ruin the cake. I explain to him that the cake is mush there’s no way that coming from Publix next door and the cake being in the freezer for more than 1 hr it would be completely melted. He said again they didn’t ruin not ruin the cake. He daughter was so upset that her birthday she said her birthday was ruined. Jorge could have apologized and offered my 3 girls cake from the menu or something. He was so rude and nasty. As we were walking out the other adult with me tried to speak with him and he dismissed her and walked away while she was speaking. Because of Jorge the manager I will never return to this establishment. Jorge needs to be trained on how to deal with customers and take responsibility for his mistakes. All I was looking for...
Read moreI recently visited this Cuban restaurant, hoping for an authentic and flavorful meal, but unfortunately, I was severely disappointed by their ropa frita. What was supposed to be a tender, savory dish turned into a charred disaster that was completely inedible. The meat was so badly burnt, it looked like it had been left on a grill and forgotten about for hours. It was completely black, dry, and resembled something more like an overcooked piece of charcoal than the tender beef I was expecting.
It was clear that the cook had taken a shortcut in preparing the dish. Instead of slow-cooking the beef to perfection as the recipe requires, they likely put it on a grill and simply walked away. The result was a dish that had been scorched beyond recognition, with no trace of the tender, flavorful texture that makes ropa frita so special.
The worst part, however, was the service. The waiter, instead of refusing to serve the burnt dish, brought it to the table and presented it like nothing was wrong. If I wanted to eat burnt meat, I could've just gone into my oven and picked out some forgotten pieces of meat that had fallen between the racks and turned to ash. There's no way that this should have been sent out to a customer.
I immediately sent the dish back, but the damage had been done. Whoever the cook was at 3 PM today should not be working in a kitchen. Their lack of attention to detail and complete disregard for food quality is unforgivable. I truly believe this person should be terminated. A dish like this is not just a mistake—it’s a failure in basic culinary standards. I won't be returning to this restaurant again anytime soon, and I would advise anyone else to think twice before ordering the...
Read moreWORST SERVICE EVER Had reservation for 4 friday evening, upon our arrival the hostess advised that a table will be ready in a few minutes. While waiting I observed a booth available next to the musician so I asked the another hostess if we could have that table and she said no problem. As we were waiting for the table I observed another hostess tall with long black hair approached the other hostess and exchanged a few words. Next thing we know the other hostess asked us to follow her to the table and sat us down on the other side of the restaurant away from music in a small table. I approached the Hostess and asked what happened to the booth by the music that she agreed to give me. She totally ignored me and did not respond. Our party of 4 were disgusted and we all agreed to leave the restaurant. As we were exiting the door a waiter asked us what happened and we told him that we were promised a booth by the music and we were seated on the opposite side. At that point the waiter indicated he would give us that table after they finished cleaning it. (Their excuse was they were still cleaning the table after 10 minutes)and then told us that we can still have that booth. We wanted to take my sister in law and her husband who just arrived from Illinois and were craving good cuban food. Was this attitude really necessary? How disappointing and disgusting, we were looking forward to a great evening with good food and good music. We ended up finding a better restaurant and did not let this incident ruin our evening plans. Little Havana you just lost some regular customers and will let our friends family and social media know how we were treated. THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.! LITTLE HAVANA...
