Zona Fresca — Restaurant in Coral Springs

I want to start by saying this WAS absolutely my favorite restaurant on Uber eats. This restaurant went from their food being fresh and carefully packaged to sloppy, soggy and missing order notes. My last 3 orders went like this…the first of the last three I ordered a tostada salad with lettuce on the side. I received a tostada with only beans and lettuce. No sour cream, no salsa, no guacamole, and no pork. At the time I was in a rush to get to work and didn’t have time nor remembered to make a complaint with Uber eats. The second of the three I once again requested lettuce on the side as it gets soggy by the time it arrives even though it’s only 15 minutes away. The ticket even said lettuce on the side please… The order had lettuce in the tostada, I was just so wiped out and ate my soggy tostada salad and went to bed. The last order I made sure to capitalize “LETTUCE ON THE SIDE please 🙏☺️” and this time not only did they add extra lettuce but also I poured out around 6 ounces of liquid from my salads. I didn’t realize I had ordered 2 tostada soups with extra lettuce… It was cold, soggy and it’s presentation was sloppy. This restaurant had always been on point and had well presented food to now what seems like purposely missed instructions with a side of spite. I will no longer be ordering from Zona Fresca any longer. This was my most ordered purchase on my Uber eats account, always ordering the same exact item. And since Uber eats refused to take action I was forced to come to google and leave this review. The quality of the food and service has gone from top notch to bottom of the barrel. This reflects poorly on not only your management but also the owner. I’m sad to say that I will have to find a different Mexican restaurant and take my business elsewhere. We were here at about 7:30 in the evening. At that time, even on a weekday, it should have been busy, especially since it's in a good location. There was no one there....and I mean no one. Other than the three of us, it was empty. That kind of thing always makes me wonder.

We had had food from here once before, and it was really good. This time, it was kind of disappointing because the food was strictly average. We started with a small basket of chips and salsa. I had the tomatillo sauce, which was good, but the chips really needed salt. I'm not sure they had any at all.

I ordered the carne asada burrito with pinto beans. It was a decent size, but had a lot more beans than meat. The beans were overcooked, but the meat was good. It also had guac on the burrito, but there was very little of it (maybe a tablespoon) and it was all in one bite. The really odd thing was that I had two bites that were very spicy - like a chunk of raw habanero spicy! It wasn't supposed to be a spicy dish, so I'm guessing that someone was making salsa and dropped some diced chiles into my burrito. That's the only thing I can figure out.

So, while the food wasn't bad, it was definitely average, which wasn't what we were expecting. Maybe we just hit them on...

For good place to go for lunch! I was doing errands and had a full schedule so I needed a quick but good quality lunch. I don’t know why I decided to stop by zona Fresca but I was near by and was calling my name so I went in and I’m glad I did. I ordered the taquitos and I chose both chicken and steak which came with rice and beans, lettuce, pico de gallo and sour cream. They also gave me chips and salsa which was nice, the way the pandemic has affected many restaurants I’m surprised they still offer that with out charging extra. Anyways the food was really good, I’m not sure if it was because I was starving and hadn’t eaten all day but I loved it. I actually ate all of it, I was full for the rest of the day! I also love their salsa bar such great options, I particularly loved the picked jalapeños and onions, I also got a drink which both ice teas they had were delicious and I definitely would recommend to anyone to definitely go there if your looking for a healthier fast food that taste great. Also the service was nice the people seemed to like their job and were really friendly which is nice to see nowadays because good service is hard to find now.
