This place has average sandwiches, however on our most recent visit we found out a terrible business practice this place runs. DO NOT TIP ON CREDIT/DEBT CARDS, the employees do NOT see that tip, it goes to the owners pocket. We also learned that if the manager is on site, they take the cash tips and leave the employees doing all the work the change. We then found out the employees only get the cash tips when the manager isn't there. I would have rated a 3 star, but even if their sandwiches were the best in Texas, this is a business practice I can't support. 2 stars for the food. Don't take away from the people doing all the work. Especially on the managment level - shameful.
I'm going to update this because I believe the point was missed in it's entirety. Management who is not creating / making the subs deserves zero percent of the tips period. I'm not tipping the guy sitting in the back. I'm tipping the lower paid employees making my food. "Pay above market" is side stepping the entire point and trying to justify wrongful actions. There is no misunderstanding or a lack of information, it was told to us at the counter by every employee working the shift. We questioned all of those there and received the same answer from every one. It's even more shameful that whoever posted the response tried to justify their actions while not denying the claim being made which means it's true the ones prepping the meal don't receive the tips. I'm changing my review to a one star for the poor response trying to claim blissful ignorance. Shame...
Read moreSo disappointed as this was my very first visit. I asked the young man for 2 $10.99 Italian subs and when he rang them up, he charged me $12.35 for each sub. The price board inside the restaurant said $10.99 and the website also said $10.99 …so I asked why was I charged $12.35? He said that he didn’t know and that maybe the taxes were included? I said no because the taxes are on a separate line. He then asked me, well do you want to cancel the order? I said no…I’m just looking for an explanation as to why you charged me more than what you you’re advertising, more than you quoted me, more than the sign price and more than the website price? He proceeded to say…if you knew the price on the website, why did you ask me how much it cost? I was taken aback…I asked how much it cost because there were different size sandwiches and this was my first visit. Anyway, never once did this young man offer to refund me the difference which would be the normal and “Right” thing to do. All I got was, I don’t know why the price is different …maybe he changed the prices and hasn’t told us or updated the sign. That’s unacceptable! Don’t quote me a price and then charge me something completely different …but can’t tell me why. Needless to say my first impression was not a good one! No customer deserves that. Please do...
Read moreI feel like I walked into a sandwich shop in Mexico. I needed a translator to order, which wasn't provided. After that, the staff laughed at me and thought that my order was something of humor. I would return if they would improve thier English and customer service!
Your reply only proves the point made. Your food is mediocre, especially your bread and cured meats. Discredit my real review if you like. It doesn't discount the reality of you poor customer service at lunch time. I will make sure I pass your response on to the public!!! Further more, you sell the local grocery stores cookies as your own at exorbitant prices. Don't blame me for you and your staffs incompincacy!!!
