Tonight's experience at Mishima was the worst one yet, and we have had some doozies at this place. From the moment you walked in, you could tell that people were agitated that there were only two waitstaff.
The tables were all uncleaned, as the one woman refuses to deal with customers, while the other is busy taking orders and doing the best she can, with a smile I might add. I cannot say a smile was had by the other one during our entire stay. The floors also have not been cleaned since I am not sure when. Our shoes were literally sticking to the floor...
In terms of food, we both ordered teriyaki filet noodles, with extra meat, and one plate with extra meat and noodles. We also ordered a California roll and a Philly roll. The sushi was great, arrived as ordered, the filet was not filet at all. It took about a minute to chew through one piece of steak. No exaggeration. The noodles were also a little off, cannot describe why exactly, but they were ok.
At the end of this experience, we were charged $90 worth of food. Mind you the filet noodle plates are around $13.95 per plate. So far, that's two plates. The sushi was charged correctly. We also had two drinks. Normally, what would have been around $60 dollars in the past was a whopping $90 dollars without tip.
We asked why the bill was so high, and the reply from grumpy waitstaff was that the extra meat is $9.99 and the extra noodles, to which only one of us asked for was $5 and some change. They offered to take off one of the extra noodles. I assume the one that I didn't order...
Needless to say, we would rather go to the overpriced steakhouse located in the old Cornelia bank than come back to Mishima Express. At least we get waited on hand and foot there and have a nice atmosphere. Although I cannot say that we will be back there either due to the price.
The one-star review is honestly for the one woman who actually took our order and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis review is based off of their new location beside Tractor Supply. In the past, I would have given them 5 starts as they've always had quick service, great food, and large servings.
I ordered takeout for the first time at the new location. I didn't realize they had moved until I went to the old location and saw the sign that they had moved across the street. The new location seats many more people and they were very busy and understaffed (though that's not a knock against them as there are staff shortages all around). The wait was much longer for the food but they warned me on the phone so again, no knock against them.
The 3 stars is because of the actual order. Food quality was lower than normal and the serving size was MUCH smaller. As another reviewer had said, they used to give such a large portion that I can barely finish but this time around I was still hungry.
If they can improve the quality of the food to the standards of their old location I'd happily update the review to 5 stars but won't be going back to their new location any time soon. Edit - 1/8/22
I've gotten take out again since the above review and it looks like their food quality and quantity has returned to the levels it used to be so I'm bumping my review back up to a 4.
The only knock is that we've found they don't answer their phone on some days when they're...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI called in the order. I ordered the Maki Combo (tuna, California, & Shamrock rolls) seen in the screenshot (1st pic) from their online menu. I said: "I want the Maki Combo with tuna, California, and Shamrock rolls." (Along with other items in my order.) When we picked up the order, the guy told my mom that it came with a Habersham roll instead of Shamrock roll. The other 2 screenshots are also from their online menu and show the descriptions of those 2 rolls. When I asked why they substituted a smaller roll, the guy said: "It's a typo on the menu." I told him that is strange since it has been listed this way for over 2 years. And...if it is a "typo" and they know it, why have they...
