I never leave a restaurant without tipping (not even carry out) but I'm sorry to say I did that this time. I really wanted to try this restaurant on my lunch break. I went online and tried clicking the "Order online" link, it sent me to a page and I tried clicking "pick up," to no avail. No menu, no ordering option, nothing popped up. I could only order delivery (which is not what I wanted.) I went into their main website to see if I could order from that, once again, no menu, no ordering options, nothing. Finally, I went to the restaurant. I was not greeted at all. I stood in front of the "Order here" sign for a solid few minutes before I was acknowledged that someone would be with me shortly. When I finally ordered, I asked for a To Go order with a fountain drink which they poured for me. While I was waiting for my order, I had to stand at the "Order here" sign because every table was taken. That's not a big deal but I was in everyone's way. The restaurant was so small and I had to move several times to get out of people's way. If I hadn't done my research on the menu (by clicking the delivery button so I could see the menu,) I would have had no idea what kind of bread they served with their food as it was not listed anywhere on the menu inside. I ordered an omelet and breakfast potatoes with peppers and onions. In my potatoes there was one pepper and maybe two onions. Overall, the food made up for the terrible service, but I will never come back. I wanted to leave this review so that the people at The Fresh Egg understood exactly why I left no tip and why this establishment has lost...
Read moreFood was decent. Staff were polite but not engaging. It wasn't clear if I was supposed to seat myself or where I pay, we had to awkwardly hover around a register until someone noticed us. I really hate it when restaurants don't make those simple things clear. It was also frigid in the restaurant to the point where the windows were opaque with condensation. I mentioned it to the server, and she said, "I just wear a sweatshirt." Great, thanks, I didn't bring a sweatshirt today, so I sat uncomfortably cold through my meal. Also, our second server brought eggs Benedict without the Canadian bacon. When my dining companion questioned it, he was told they don't serve bacon with their Benedicts but brought a free side plate of bacon strips. It was a nice gesture but it seems this server doesn't know the ingredients of eggs benedict; good opportunity for training. My friend said he likes going here and enjoys the food, but the confluence of events that occurred on my visit just make the idea of a return visit undersirable. I visited on 7.2.2025 and acknowledge the staff during my visit may have...
Read moreI'm in North Charlotte, and Yelp NEVER recommended this place for Bruch. BIG Fail. The hubby and I found ourselves here after church. There was no wait, but it was full. I had shrimp and grits. They were delicious! Possibly the best in Charlotte. The only thing that could've been better is they could've been served warmer. My husband had pancakes. They were normal pancakes. No harm, no foul.
The service was outstanding. Julie, our waitress was so friendly. The restaurant is a little tight, so if you're concerned about COVID, go when it's not busy. The lady at the table beside of us was upset because her mother didn't invite her to Thanksgiving dinner because her brother was coming and didn't want her there. However, she was invited to Christmas, but she thinks it's because mom just wants her grandkids there. I prayed for the family after they left. We were THAT close together.
Everything came out quickly. It's similar to a diner style ordering system. I plan to try the pot pie when I go back. I may become a regular. Hidden gem, highly...
