We happened into this restaurant on the way to the movies. We were looking forward to having some Korean Korean Hawaiian mixed flavor. We ordered the musubi, the chicken plate, and we're looking at some sushi. In the meantime there was only one guy working there and it was very very strange. After we ordered which seemed almost normal even though he was not friendly and almost seemed like he did not understand the language but we could not be sure. So we went and sat down again waiting to go to the movies and we waited 25 minutes. At that time the lady in front of us was still sitting down waiting patiently also and she said yeah I've been waiting here a while. So I said nicely to the guy in the back excuse me sir excuse me, is our food almost ready because we have a movie. He looked at me with a Blank Stare turned around and walked away. So I can continue to ask him excuse me excuse me is our food almost ready or no? He continued to ignore us. The lady now was getting upset and he finally brought her food out. She was on a cane so I asked her if she needed help out to her car which she did, so when I got back in I said to the guy is our food almost ready we have to go as our movie starts in 15 minutes. He continued to ignore us very strangely so I slap my hand on the counter to see if he could hear me. And I finally saw him throwing things around in the kitchen and said dude we have to go I would like my money back exclamation point. At this point he came around the counter and I said what is your problem do you not understand me or is there something going on here? He said oh so sorry so sorry sir you must be alright sir I've been here throughout lunch and its 4:30 now sir you must be alright so sorry so sorry yelling at me. So I yelled back that he needs to step the heck away from me and give me my money back. He acted very aggressive and weird. We will never go back to your restaurant and we will tell everyone we know what happened. It was aggressive and crazy I don't know if he was about to have a nervous breakdown, I don't know if he's the owner, but he was the most rude employee of any restaurant I've ever been to literally in my whole life. Very very strange!!!!!!!!! If he is not the owner I would love to hear from the owner. This was insane. My wife was begging me not to engage with this guy as she knows what would happen. But it was horrible and we left very angry and hungry. We had to have hot dogs at the movies,...
Read moreI read reviews that said there were crazy long waits for food, so we called ahead with our order, which was for 8 people. The employee answering the phone stopped listening mid way to take the order of another customer at the counter without telling us and then returned after a minute to finish taking our order, which was weird. Their promised pick up time was 40 minutes, but it took some extra time on top of that for them to put together the order at pickup.
The restaurant was completely empty, which was kind of creepy - literally not a single person inside - we also picked up an order from Seven Seas in the same shopping center - I highly recommend this place instead - and their restaurant was completely full. There were dirty dishes left on one table, and one of them was one of those pink plastic bowls you can buy from target. They almost forgot some items in the back before we asked where they were. Every single order was in a plastic/styrofoam container, then wrapped several times in plastic wrap, which was extremely wasteful and meant we couldn't double check the orders before taking them home.
Here's a list of the issues with our order: ramen was made of instant noodles instead of fresh ones, which was pretty disappointing. we ordered the ramen with egg, which was confirmed verbally back to us over the phone, but the ramen had vegetables on top instead and we were charged for vegetables on the receipt We paid an extra $3 for beef on the ramen, but there was an extremely disappointing amount of beef on top. We ordered the beef and chicken katsu combo, but it came with beef and regular chicken. Bibimbap was too spicy for many family members to enjoy and we weren't asked or told about spice levels for this dish. Even those who could handle the spice didn't care for the flavor - something about it tasted off
The only redeeming factors were the fried foods: Popcorn chicken (came with a thick, dark sauce that none of us could recognize or enjoy) Fries (came with ranch) Gyoza (came with tempura sauce)
Overall, we really didn't have a good experience, and will very likely not come back, but if we ever do, we will stick with the wings or other fried foods that other people rave about. After this visit, I highly recommend against any noodles. I got the hi-noodle, which was technically fine, but I really didn't...
Read moreThis place has blacked out windows. But donât let that turn you away.
Upon walking in I was really skeptical of how this place was going to be. They use paper plates and plastic utensils. Thereâs clutter EVERYWHERE. Supplies packed on counters, chairs itâs just insanity inside.
But after all that? Let me get into why itâs 4 stars.
The food. And the service.
Greeted immediately. Ordered the garlic soy hot wings. Anytime I see fried korean wings. I have to try it. I havenât found a better tasting Korean fried chicken than a place called âKyoChonâ but let me tell you. THIS place ranks up there with them.
The chicken is cooked to perfection. Perfectly crispy. Perfectly seasoned. Perfect garlic soy hot wings.
If youâre familiar with Korean spicy wings. Youâre going to LOVE these. Theyâre top notch. I even went back after lunch to get dinner and get MORE wings. It was THAT good lol.
So would I recommend this place? Most definitely. Their wings are absolutely legit. Only reason for 4 stars and not 5. Is because of the interior. But the food and service 100% makes up for...
