Service and atmosphere, from the top. The retro Sizzler is awesome. It's good to see some of the older original stuff brought back as that is the Brand. Sizzle the Sizzler Bull. Awesome colors, much brighter and more welcoming. The old dark wood paneling is gone, refreshed with vibrant reds and colors. The tables and booths brightened up as well, no more eating in a dungeon. Now the lower star stuff. The food. We started out so promising, the salad bar was promising, the salad fresh, fixings on hand and plentiful, salad dressing clean and free from cross contamination (I can have Bleu Cheese it's toxic for me) so I was happy to see ranch on one side and completely opposite side was the BC. The pasta was kinda dry in some spots, crunchy. Sadly, the meatballs took a taste bud dive. They were swimming in a thin "pasta" sauce and had a vinegar back taste to them. Not at all pleasurable. The marinara sauce that was offered wasn't much of an improvement. The taco bar was skipped, when I saw the amount of grease that was in the meat, I just couldn't. Moving over to the soups. As always the Clam chowder came out on top for me. The broccoli cheese sadly fell short, as the broccoli looks good but has a green mush texture that gets lost in the cheesiness. And over to the dessert bar. The chocolate brownie, superb. Worked well in the chocolate ice cream. Altho the mix machine was having issues doling out the chocolate and vanilla ice cream. The toppings which included my childhood fav Fruity Pebbles and mini chocolate chips was great. Lastly, the table service, our table monitor was great, drinks were always full, empty plates were whisked away promptly. She...
Read moreIt was apparent the moment we walked in the door that this Sizzler has not been remodeled in ages. We made the mistake of going in anyway. First thing we noticed was how hot it was in there. There were overhead ceiling fans scattered throughout the dining area. But these did not seem to help in cooling the restaurant down. It was close to a hundred degrees outside but the air conditioning was not working very well inside. Ordering was the same as always. Order first pay and then find a table. The problem was almost every single table was dirty. We asked one of the servers if they could get somebody to bus a table and they said they would. Almost five minutes later somebody came out to clean a table for us. The whole time we had to stand holding our tray with our drinks and plates waiting for a place to sit down. Let's get to the good stuff. The salad bar was actually well-maintained. The lettuce appeared to be fresh and there were plenty of items to choose from. Once we were finally seated our server was attentive and checked on us several times during our meal. The problem is, it's hard to look past the dirtiness of the restaurant and the uncomfortable temperature inside. Many of the tables around us remained dirty uncleared an unavailable for use while we ate our meal. And I do not enjoy sitting in a restaurant sweating while I eat. Unless they remodel this location we will not return there again. And as always, your...
Read moreThe salad bar was fresh and well maintained. However there were no signs saying what items were. I know some is self explanatory, some things are not. We thought we were getting a corn fritter and it ended up being a mini hotdog! The floors were very sticky. At the counter, by salad bar and in the bathrooms. The bathroom had a sign to be careful, wet floors. Not wet just Very Sticky. Upon ordering we mentioned the sticky floor to the manager, she said, "We will look into that" Nothing was done to correct the problem while we were there. (2 hours) Upon sitting at the table it looked clean. Once we sat down we discovered a lot of crumbs on the table. I unwrapped my silverware to use the napkin to wipe it down. I learned then both my forks were dirty! The waitress quickly replaced with a new set. Something caught my eye when I looked up. Looks like someone had a food fight on the ceiling! OMG - What next we thought! Upon leaving we noticed several smudges and finger prints on both sets of doors. It would also be nice to have some type of shade on the windows. Got very warm sitting next to the window with the sun shining through it. This was my second time dining since they opened due to covid. The first time it was not as dirty, but the food (malibu chicken) was Not Good. I'm willing to give it one more try - I am hoping it is not...
