Broken Yolk Cafe — Restaurant in Corona

Food was good, the service ok, but the wait was horrible. It was very frustrating to be waiting in the front with a large crowd while 9 of the 16 tables I counted were empty. We approached the receptionist who was working diligently to sit people, and she mentioned she hadn't had time to sit those who were waiting. In the meantime, a group of 5 waiters and waitresses we're standing around in a group laughing and just having the time of their life doing absolutely nothing. This went on for about 30 min before they began to help sit people down. Once they got involved in helping to sit, the wait line was cut by 60%. We spoke with manager and she said, "we're just busy sir"...no customer service at all. Its a shame after putting so much thought and effort into their menu and website that they dont back it up with good service. If I were the owner, I'd be looking for some answers and/or cleaning house and bringing new staff. OUR FAMILY OF 6 WILL NOT BE GOING BACK! Our time on Sunday morning is better spent that sitting around for over an hour waiting for waiters and waitresses to decide to attend the crowds who are there to spend their money to pay for their income.

UPDATE Aug 2021: After my review, I was contacted by the owner generally concerned about the situation. I was asked to email a more detailed summary of my experience that they might be able to look into what happened and resolve the issue. I was glad to help so I obliged. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. My husband and I came here for breakfast. My husband ordered a salad as an appetizer. We ordered our food 20 min later without having having the salad first. My husband received all of his food and he we received the salad at the same time. I ordered avocado toast as my main dish and I didn't receive it at the same time as my husband. I waited 10 min while my husbands food was getting cold and he began to eat. I don't understand how my husbands food which included steak, eggs, hash browns, bacon and biscuits and gravy came out faster then my simple avocado toast. I asked about where my toast was and she explained "I saw it on the window and I'll go grab it". Instead of grabbing the toast, she proceeds to take orders from a table with 8 people while my husband continues to finish his food. I go up to her while she's taking orders and I tell her to cancel the toast and bring the check. She finished the order and still didn't bring the check. I go to find her and hand her my card. No apologies at all. I'm a pretty heaving tipper always tipping between 18-20% for good service and meals. This is the first time I tipped 0 because of the service. Never...

I used to go to Broken Yolk all of the time years ago in San Diego. The service, food and atmosphere was always top notch. Well u can tell you the chains are not. This is a chain from the original, even states the Original Broken Yolk. If that is the case it's not the original owners.

The service was not good. Took sometime to get our order taken, not terribly long but not great. The problem came in while waiting for our food. After over 40 minutes and barely seeing our waitress I finally called her over and asked about it. Her response was very non caring and she only said "oh, let me check on that". No apology or anything. She came back about 3 minutes later and said it should be about 2 more minutes. When our food arrived my wife's chicken fried steak and gravy was barely warm. The eggs weren't warm enough to eat. My burrito was hot only in the center and rest was just warm. My daughter's food was cold and they forgot the bacon as well.

We never got an apology or a reason for the delay or anything. We had to ask for our check up front so we didn't have a delay there.
