Great staff,relaxed atmosphere.that is,until this last Sunday Evening,I showed up after work for a few drinks as I've been doing for like 3 to 4 nights a week,this short, heavy set bartender with a beard and glasses told me I had to leave my bike bag by the front door,I ride a motorcycle so I carry that bag on my bike to hold personal effects, insurance registration paperwork,etc. For any one to just walk by and take it while I'm spending good $ and socializing.he refused me service for a small shoulder bag,but I've personally seen people walk in with large bags,even duffle bags,for diva shows,etc.what set me apart? The atmosphere was great and all BUT I had went last night with friends for my birthday and I had ordered a Liquid Marijuana and the bartender from upstairs had told me my card was declined which was impossible because I had deposited some money onto it the night before and I made sure I had money before going out. I was confused on why it got declined. Some random man was generous enough to pay for my drink so I thanked him. I eventually went on with my night and turns out The Hidden Door had charged my card $50, taking the rest of my money from my card when I ordered a drink that costs no more than $7. I was in Corpus for work and decided to stop by on a weekday. They had just opened. Met John, the bartender. He was so much fun! Kept me laughing and made me feel very welcome. Over the course of years, this was my third time here. I don’t make it to Corpus often but, I try to drop by when I do. It’s such a great place. Everyone is so friendly! I met the owner, Bill and we chatted for quite a bit. He introduced me to his sweet friends and we all had great conversations about traveling. The Hidden Door is the oldest gay bar in Corpus.
