Be careful staying at this hotel. I parked directly in front of the entrance where two cameras were facing my truck and my truck was still broken into and the tail lights were stolen. I’ve been asking for the camera footage for three days now with nothing received yet. Hoping they do the right thing. Update 1: it’s now been over a week and they have yet to send me the video footage from these cameras. The GM, Chris, promised I would have them by Thursday of last week. I’m about to have the police go get the footage from the hotel. Update 2: still no video footage provided. I can only assume at this point the management might be involved in issues going on at this hotel. I would not stay here if you have other choices. If the hotel does the right thing in providing the video footage I will provide another update. Update 3: they never produced the video footage from my stay 3 weeks ago. I came down for another baseball tournament this past weekend (did not drive my truck) and the hotel gave away my room. Due to Spring Break and a music concert everything in the area was sold out. I booked my room 2 weeks in advance. We didn’t check in until 9:45pm due to baseball games and when we arrived they had literally given away our room bc we didn’t respond to an email they sent at 1pm that same day asking if we were still planning to stay with them. It’s obvious they wanted to upgrade and gouge someone else on pricing since every hotel was at 100% occupancy. I had an actual reservation number and am a Marriott member. This hotel ownership and management is the worst I have ever experienced. They didn’t even have the decency to call me. They only emailed.

Our room was essentially a furnished apartment complete with a dishwasher, microwave, large fridge, two-burner stove top, full size kitchen sink with a garbage disposal, full size work desk, couch and footstool, and kitchen table with chairs. Washers and dryers are available. The hotel offers plenty of amenities. We were offered cheesecake bites in the lobby one evening. One night was taco night. Another evening, they had free margaritas. There's a pool and a work out room. Free coffee, including decaf and specialty creamers and syrups, is available all day. Breakfast is included. Definitely take advantage! We stayed several days and discovered the menu rotated, but you'll typically find eggs, hashbrowns, bacon and sausage or ham and biscuits with gravy, muffins, waffles, yogurt, white and chocolate milk, orange and apple juice, oatmeal with add-ins like nuts or cinnamon, bagels, pastries, and cereal. Condiments include cream cheese, peanut butter, Nutella, and syrup. GF muffins are available. There were families and business guests. Kids loved the pool; adults enjoyed the bar. The location was perfect. It's downtown and one block or so away from a beach. The front of the hotel faces the water and a marina. However, the hotel is not directly on the water. The U&I restaurant is behind the hotel and across the street, and they have an extensive menu.

We are Marriott Bonvoy Platinum members. Marriott does not want you reading this review. 1/1 - Cleanliness Hotel was new and consequently clean. Public spaces clean. Pool area organized and clean. Hotel room clean. 0/1 - Beds/Linens We stayed at this property for two nights. The morning of the second day, housekeeping changed our sheets and provided clean towels. In the world of COVID, coming back to a hotel room freshened by housekeeping was a pleasant surprise. Until we retired to bed and found the new clean sheets not fitting the mattress. So here we are, 11:00p.m. calling the front desk for replacement sheets and making the bed ourselves prior to heading off to sleep. Really tarnished and otherwise great experience. QUEEN sheets do not fit a KING mattress. 1/1 - Room Furnishings Room furnishings were comfortable; no issues. 1/1 - Bath Form/Function Spacious hotel bathroom. 1/1 - Hotel Staff This was the highlight of the property. We arrived early on our day of checking and were able to get into a clean room. We had breakfast then used the pool. Front desk staff was very helpful. Maintenance person adding chemicals to the pool was very concerned about his activity and whether it was going to be a nuisance for us. The bar tender was fun and friendly.

This stay was a complete disaster. I reserved specifically a room with a bay view. When I checked in they gave me my keys and said “ enjoy you Bay view room.” After a long trip, my family was exhausted and looking forward to getting up to our room. When we got in I opened the curtains only to see a complete brick wall. I left my family out in the hallway and I went downstairs to inform them that this was not the room I reserved. After explaining the situation to the attendant she was unapologetic and refused to give me the room I reserved. She said that room was sold out and because I reserved through a third party, her hands were tied. After asking for the manager, he said that the rate had went up for that room ( after they told me it was sold out) and if I wanted it o would have to pay $269. If it was sold out, how could I get the exact room I reserved ? After 10 minutes of confronting them on these issues, and asking why they said this room was sold out, and now it wasn’t if I paid the $269. It was very late and my family and I were exhausted. I ended it paying for the room with my credit card and disputed with my credit card company. Currently, I have spent over 4 hours with my credit card company ( who agrees that this is ridiculous and should be refunded). The manager of the hotel is not budging one bit about refunding me my $. I paid 22,000 of my reward miles and now $269 for the hotel = $ 479 for one night. My credit card company have talked to him more than twice and he absolutely stands by his decision and will absolutely not refund me. The time involved with all this is ridiculous. We are now having to try other avenues. The staff here are completely rude and dishonest. I would never recommend this hotel at all. The sheets were also dirty and the toilet seat as well. At the swimming pool they were letting customers go to the bar and bring glassware out to the pool. I can’t even believe that I have had to dispute these ridiculous charges. So much time wasted on a completely...

A Surprise Gem in Corpus Christi – Residence Inn Review

Sometimes, the best part of a trip isn’t the fishing, the sightseeing, or even the food—it’s the comfort and convenience you find at your home base. On a recent getaway to Corpus Christi, I discovered just that at the Residence Inn off the main highway (right off SPID for those who know the area).

From the moment I walked in, I was impressed. The property was modern, spotless, and thoughtfully designed. My room was incredible—plenty of space, great lighting, and décor that felt more like a stylish apartment than a typical hotel room.

As a Marriott Titanium Elite member for many years, I’ve come to appreciate the perks that come with loyalty, but this stay reminded me exactly why I work to keep that status. One word: late checkout. Most guests have to be out by 11 a.m., maybe 1 p.m. if they’re lucky or willing to pay extra. But as a Titanium Elite member, I can often stretch that to a 4 p.m. checkout—if availability allows.

On this trip, it was a game-changer. My morning was spent on a guided fishing trip out in the Gulf, about five or six hours under the sun. By the time we got back around 1 p.m., I was sweaty, salty, and ready for a shower before our drive back to San Antonio—just two and a half hours away. Thanks to that late checkout, I didn’t have to rush. We got back to the hotel, cleaned up, relaxed for a bit, and hit the road refreshed instead of frazzled.

It might sound simple, but for me, that was the highlight of the trip—the little luxury of time and comfort. So thank you, Marriott, for making it possible.

As for Corpus Christi itself, it’s a fun city with great coastal charm, though I do think it has room to upgrade in some areas to match its potential as a top-tier Texas destination. Still, the Residence Inn will definitely be my go-to spot here. Sometimes, a trip is only as good as where you get to come back to at the end of the day—and in this case, it was the...

I stayed at this property for 3 nights with family of 4. The overall property cleanliness and quality of the room was fine. Location of hotel was central, so easy access to everything. Complimentary breakfast was decent, but with little to no change every day. So if you have a long stay you may get bored of it.

I give a poor rating mainly due to the staff quality. No toiletries provided upon arrival. Wanted to request shampoo, bath gel, lotion, etc. Could not call frontdesk from room phone as it was always on busy tone, even though they were not busy (my room was on first floor so I just walked out and looked, no one else there). So went to front desk and requested and waited for an hour and no response. Went a second time and they said they will send the items to room again. No response again for the rest of the night. Went again next morning, and they again said they will drop off items in room. In the end they dropped off just 2 bottles of lotion. So they expect my whole family to bathe with 2 bottles of lotion? I am not sure if it is they do not have the items in the hotel. If so, then fine I can go out and get it myself. The most infuriating part is they keep promising they will deliver but did not, and my whole family keep waiting to have a proper shower.

The other issue was maintenance came in the room where I explicitly request no maintenance and cleaning staff enter during our stay due to Covid concerns (I have an infant and a young child unvaccinated). In the end they came in after we left the room. How would I know? because they replaced the non-working lightbulbs on some lamps and just left the non-working lightbulbs on the table. That too is a hazard had my young kids played with those and broke them before I saw it.

Overall, will not stay again although it is a nice property. The staff was friendly enough, but are not competent to handle even such...
