Waffle House — Restaurant in Corsicana

First off, I rarely give a full 5 stars for anything as there is always room for improvement. That said, I sometime break this rule even though there indeed could be some improvement due to the high level of attention to the most important things the business is in the business of offering. In this case, good food, good service, and good atmosphere.

Atmosphere: I think most people failure with WH think they are all the yesteryear versions we grew up with. An old ball hangout of truckers, late nighters, and drifters. A seating area divided up by smoking or non-smoking even though the entire room is the size of a living room. A place where conversation can turn a bit edgy and thing might even get rowdy.

Those days may still exist here and there, BUT, this place was an exception. The patrons eating here were families, travelers from the nearby hotels, and friends. The place was mostly clean and inviting when you walked in. We were off to a great start.

Service: Our waitress came over immediately and took care of us. She did so throughout the meal and I couldn't have asked for better service. Very happy with her.

Food: We had a variety of items with our table of four. Every single item was cooked to perfection and done so quickly. I am always amazed at how fast a WH can produce meals. It's like magic. Hot fresh meals in 5-8 minutes. Whataburger can't even do that! The cook was perfect IMHO.

So, do I recommend this location? Absolutely. I will change my normal travel route to make this a normal stop from now on. To the staff...

Well... When there is good reason to I guess, walk in and there are 5 guest 6 workers One lady at the far end cleaning 1 of the 3 tables We sit at the one she just cleaned (the other two were dirty and the other booths at the other end we occupied) Immediately huffs and puffs as we sit Starts slamming the napkins, the sugar, the Tabasco and the shakers back onto the table, breathing all heavy like we just made her whole night that much worse Throws down our menus and walks away Me being me, say something indirectly to my brother loud enough everyone can hear We got another server cause she clearly needed a break When she came back she avoided us and mumbled under her breath when she passed by

Now I am typically not mean to be mean but how hard is your job when you have obviously been working for this particular service and you had 5 other already attended to customers and you had only 1 table clean for us to use... Our cook was nice tho He made sure we had our drinks...

All around Great Experience. Food Excellent. Customer Service Excellent with Fast & Friendly Service. Clean Restaurant with clean restrooms. Located off I-45 at HWY287 exit. Drawback to me its the parking area is small in a congested area by Hotels and other Restauran Businesses. Just kinda would be a better experience if the enterance/exit and parking had been more land accessible when they news facility was built. I Still give it 5 Stars for a Rating. Was there about 4:00 am. on a Sunday morning. Was not crowded. Our Server looked like Dave Grohl of the rock band Then Foo' Fighters'. His name was Mark and kept us entertained but was very professional. Played my wife and my friend and I some good music on the Jukebox. Good representing the Company, was good with our order and meeting our needs. Worth giving it a try if your hungry for breakfeast and...
