It's Saturday and Girl's Night Out. Tonight it was Vasilio's in Cortland, Ohio. Wow...what a disappointment. The only reason they got one star is because we had an awesome waitress in Kristin. We got our drinks and our wedding soup. First time I had wedding soup loaded with onions, carrots and celery. I ordered the pork loin and my cousin got roast beef. We swear they had opened up an OnCor package and got both types of meat from there. I had thin slices of what looked like frozen dinner type pork. It was thin and uniformly cut. The potatoes were watery and smooshy. The gravy was really salty, We won't even talk about the stuffing or why you would even have it with pork loin and roast beef. My cousins roast beef was certainly not the home cooked roast beef she was expecting. She said it tasted more like processed meat. She did enjoy the lima beans though. The restaurant itself is super small and very difficult to maneuver when people are sitting at the tables. The decor was nothing to write home about. All in all we were very disappointed in Vasilio's and won't be back again and we would not recommend this place to anyone! Update on 6/11/2020. I have added more stars ONLY because we ordered the deep dish parmesan chicken pizza and the pickle pizza today. They were both utterly divine. We will definitely be back for more...regular food in the restaurant..not so much!!! Update #2..we had the spaghetti and meatballs deep dish pizza. Absolutely amazing!!!

First time here, but had purchased nut rolls (kolachi) in the past. Nothing overly fancy, a huge menu and pizza by the slice. A step up from local diners and much better than many local Italian restaurants. Ordered the calamari as an appetizer w/marinara along with cup of wedding soup. Was cooked just right with a light seasoned breading and excellent marinara sauce, the soup hot and not too salty as can happen as soup is held for a while. Tried the fish sandwich with fries and was extremely satisfied with it. Huge portion of fries. Also the “Bulldog Burger “ w/ fries. 10oz handmade patty, bacon, fried egg, cheese, lettuce and tomato with a massive amount of fries. Patty was huge and cooked perfectly; my partner said one of the best burgers she ever had. That’s a big compliment from her! The food was piping hot as were other patrons meals coming out as I could see the steam. Very reasonable with teas at around $30.00. And had to buy two nut rolls to go!! We will definitely be going back again if for nothing else but to try the pizza.

We wanted to hit Vasilio's last week but they were closed for vacations. So we stopped tonight. They were struggling to get restarted. They were crowded when we came in but we were immediately seated. We heard one staff guy say the busboy quit and they were scrambling. They were out of 2 of the four specials at 6:30pm so we picked one pasta marinara and one burger. Took 45 min for our entrees to arrive. The food was very good. Large portions, hot, well presented. The burgers bun was toasted. Fries were unseasoned but crisp. My big gripe was the long wait for food. The wait staff were hustling so the issue had to be in the kitchen. It is tough to ding them if they are short staff but as a customer, that isn't my problem. It is theirs. Update: 11/23. Service improved. Food the same. Partners egg plant was huge portion. Sauce excellant. Atmosphere was a strange vibe. Not comfortable or welcoming. Just a weird feeling. Uncomfortable. Couldn't wait to leave.

Tonight was the last night we will order from this place. First of all, this is the second time this month (January) we have tried to order from them over the phone, and they don't answer. Tonight, when I said(obviously over their answering machine) I am going to order elsewhere because you don't answer, they then picked up the phone and said they were busy. Glad you are, but don't miss out on other orders (like mine) because you don't have someone manning the phones exclusively for you! I ordered a pizza with Green Peppers and both cheeses tonight. When we got home with it, they didn't make it the way we had ordered, this pizza had one Cheese, and no Green Peppers, and the crust was hard. Definitely not the excellent pizza we have always received before. Our name wasn't even on the box, nor even what we wanted on it. I think they gave us our pizza tonight made this way in spite, which we will now make sure our friends know what this place did. There are certainly enough pizza businesses in town and elsewhere that would appreciate any customers they can get, and won't "purposely" make the order wrong. Needless to say, this will be the last time we ever order from Vasillio's, and we will give our business to the other pizza...

Being new to this area, I didn't know about your great restaurant until recently when you were the morning feature on WFMJ. We had our first try via take out on Friday July 21st, 2017. Everything was amazing. I have a weakness for spaghetti so I had the veal parmesan . I can't name any place that serves a portion of any meat as generous as the veal piece i was served tonight. And it all was delicious. I have left over for tomorrow's lunch. Everyone here loved what they ordered and were very pleased with their portion size as well. Husband had the ribeye sandwich, another had gyro and another the fish. Plus one extra fish dinner so we could all sample the fish. The only problem was when hubby did the ordering he was asked if he wanted the fish fried. It wasn't until he was present and waiting for pickup that he heard a customer order beer batter. We always , always, always order beer batter everywhere. So our sample order was not beer batter but still good just the same. And now we know for next time. 😀 Maybe the cooking choices should be verbalized upon ordering. The portions are super generous and prices are super reasonable. We are completely ❤️ satisfied and will be return customers. Thank you for...
