I wanted to like this place. We tried to check out a new coffee shop. But we were very disappointed. First of all, they don’t have true espresso drinks. They only have cold brew which they heat up and put in a hot drink. Then they have no dairy milk. Only plant-based milk. And all the plant-based milk they offer has sugar in it. We found out the hard way. The barista said the almond milk was unsweetened with no sugar. I ordered the almond milk latte. There was no coffee flavor and it just taste like sugar. I went back to the barista and said are you sure this doesn’t have sugar in it? And he says “yes it does. It just has less sugar than the other plant-based milk.” I said you told us it was unsweetened with no sugar. Now you’re telling us that it has sugar. Also, they say they put the equivalent of cold brew in a latte. In this case this would be the equivalent of two espresso shots. That is not true. They put a couple ounces of cold brew in the cup. So basically you’re paying six or seven dollars for a Sweetened plant-based milk. I returned my drink and asked for a cold brew instead. The cold brew was OK. Smooth and not to bitter. However, in a 12 ounce cup they filled it almost to the top with ice. So again I only got a couple ounces of cold brew. I would recommend getting it with no ice. Anyway, very frustrating experience. I would suggest that they carry a dairy milk or cream, and that the staff are educated on what is in their products. I was really frustrated to find out that I drink half a cup of sugar unintentionally. Honestly, their prices are way too high for the products that they serve. Also, on their specialty lattes, it makes it sound like you’re going to get some good stuff in those like turmeric, ginger, black pepper… However, it’s just a concentrate that they use. It’s no different than a chai. I will not be going back there. We literally had to go to another coffee shop after this experience and go get a quality cup of coffee. We did not ask for a refund. However, I will not be going there again. The only positive in this place...
Read moreA friend and I decided to meet here because it looked like it was super cute and had a great atmosphere. Unfortunately, the looks of the place were not enough to give good vibes. We were not greeted when we came in, (and were even given eye contact) felt completely ignored until we said that we were ready to the barista, and when we did order, we felt extremely uncomfortable. We asked for honey in our beverage and the barista said no, they don’t have that because it’s “super harmful to the bee community..”
We learned after the judgmental customer “service” that this was a vegan coffee shop, which is completely respectable- but there is a much better way to deliver that message to your customers. Don’t make them feel judged, just kindly let them know you only serve vegan friendly options..
The next day I told my friend at my work about this, and she told me that she had nearly the same experience, that she felt she was interrupting the baristas with their small talk and felt like a huge burden to order.
The people are what create the vibe for a business-...
Read moreHonestly cannot say anything bad about this place. For the sake of their privacy I won’t use their names but instead an initial but each of the baristas I’ve met, L, M & S are all so damn friendly and helpful. Mix their helpfulness with the atmosphere surrounded by plants and all plant based drink / food options you quite literally feel green inside and out. Greenery everywhere sets an atmosphere of fresh air and good feelings. The coffee is superb. As a four year barista, I’m picky as all get out for my coffee. I see if I’m gonna like a place based off their drips, single shots, and americano. With that in mind I must say, here at greenhouse is one of the best of all three west of the Mississippi. The owners apparently hire off of vibes and they handled that wonderfully too. The music that plays is different but concise and the recommendations for drinks don’t feel pushy.
Shoutout to greenhouse. Come buy plants and talk about coffee here. Or vice versa. Or buy both and talk about your purchases. Either way, go...
