Coshocton has a new crown jewel, and it goes by the name Roscoe Barbeque Company. Nestled in the heart of town in Roscoe Village, this up-and-coming BBQ haven is not just another stop on the culinary map — it's a full-blown experience that blends hometown comfort with bold, mouthwatering flavors.
From the moment you arrive, you're greeted with a warmth that’s hard to come by these days — think front-porch hospitality meets artisan-level culinary passion. Whether you're dining in or picking up after a walk, you're welcomed like family. Every visit feels like coming home.
What truly sets Roscoe Barbeque apart is its authenticity. In an era of mass-produced, reheated fare, Roscoe stands tall with handcrafted, home-cooked meals made with love and intention. This is real, slow-smoked BBQ — no shortcuts, no prepackaged gimmicks — just honest-to-goodness flavor that resonates with every bite.
The food? Absolutely phenomenal. Every plate is a celebration of texture, taste, and tradition. The meats are tender, juicy, and infused with that irresistible smoky essence. The sides? Thoughtfully crafted, comforting, and every bit as memorable as the main event. And the sauces — oh, the sauces — offer the perfect balance of zing, sweetness, heat and boldness, elevating each dish into something extraordinary.
Roscoe Barbeque Company brings a unique spin to classic BBQ, masterfully fusing southern soul with a northern twist. There’s a rustic elegance to the whole operation that adds both charm and class — a vibe that makes you want to stay awhile, share a story, and soak in the nostalgic glow of family cookouts and summer evenings. Dine inside with a cabin like feel, on the patio like visiting a friend, or by the basin on the picnic tables like a family cookout.
Every time I pre-order for a post-walk meal, I’m blown away by the consistency. Which is perfect with all the walking paths in Roscoe and Lake Park! The food is always hot, always fresh, and always prepared with pride. And the team? Friendly, welcoming, and truly passionate about what they do. That personal touch makes all the difference.
If you're anywhere near Coshocton, Roscoe Barbeque Company is an absolute must-try. It's more than a meal — it's a taste of community, tradition, and innovation all wrapped into one savory, unforgettable experience. A local treasure with sky-high potential.

Read moreWe stopped there yesterday, with a party of six, two who need to walk with canes. This place is NOT HANDICAPPED ACCESSIBLE! We chose this place because it shows that it is supposed to be handicapped accessible. There are NO RAMPS, STAIRS ONLY. ONLY ONE HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE. Parking is on the basement level of the home and you must climb steps! I was able to slowly make it to the last two steps because they had some nice railing. The one step is almost to my knee in height, there was no way I was going to be able to make it up that step. If it were not for young family members, I wouldn't have been able to buy lunch. I couldn't go to the restrooms, they are located inside. We so wanted to sit up on the porch but I had to have those that arrived earlier relocate to the picnic tables.... thank goodness it wasn't raining! The picnic table area overlooks a mucky waterway that wasn't very appealing at this time of year. Now, the food... it was good! Be prepared to eat off of a paperlined metal tray, is rather have a plate. Sadly, they were out of brisket so we had to settle for pulled pork and sliced turkey (wasn't impressed with the turkey). Mac-n-cheese was okay a lil soupy, baked beans were good, cornbread was very dry. Others in my party like the collard greens and coleslaw. I can't comment on service because I couldn't go inside and meet the workers. Owners need to fix the access into the business, ramp or make...
Read moreWe had been underwhelmed by the Coshocton food scene. Our earlier dining experiences were not good. Roscoe BBQ Co was the last chance on this trip. And it hit it out of the park. A very scenic setting. Easy to find with plenty of parking. The space is set up like a take-out joint with only a handful of tables inside. In fair weather, there is a lot of outdoor seating. The food is classis smoked BBQ. Texas (dry rub) brisket and ribs. Classic sides like Mac and cheese, beans, Street corn. The BBQ is prepared in an on site smoke house. And the pit master knows his craft. I've eaten a lot of Que in my 75 years and this was pretty darn good. Moist, firm. Great taste and texture. The brisket was sliced thicker than I like but held it's shape. They talked us into a banana pudding for dessert but we were so stuffed that we took it to go. The place stays open until the days smoke was sold out. At 5 pm about half the menu was sold out. There was a steady stream of customers. Very friendly and open. Everyone working stopped by the table to chat. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars. They really saved...
