I'll give it two stars because our server was doing a monumental task. I brought in a soccer team of 25 total but had notified them a week before and sent our orders the day before to help them with the prep.
When we got there they were "ready" for us and seated us immediately but that's about where the good part ended. The gentleman helping us needed help but there was none coming.
Chips and salsa were quickly eaten and it took probably twenty minutes for the kids to get more, out of a tostitos bag no less. Drink refills took forever and when I seen the flatbread pizza being brought out I knew I had made a poor choice to get these kids fed.
Food was brought out 2-4 people at a time and the last couple of girls got theirs nearly an hour after the first ones had. The food? Well, let's just say I had several walk to McDonalds after dinner because they either didn't like the food or it just wasn't enough.
The place is a pretty neat place and has nice atmosphere. I felt really bad for the guy serving us as he kept apologizing. I know it's not his fault the kitchen was behind and there wasn't anyone else to help him
There were still empty tables so it wasn't like we overwhelmed the place.
Great effort but it fell really flat. If we return to the area, we won't...

I asked for a ginger ale and was told they didn't carry it but offered a ginger beer instead. Ordered a Lock 37 salad and the jambalaya special. The food came quickly and that's when we found out this place was not to be taken seriously. The salad was served on a paper plate. Really. A paper plate? The jambalaya came in a small ramikin. No bread. Just a small bowl that was gone in a few spoonfuls. It tasted great, but was pretty small even for a lunch special. The physical space is nicely renovated. But how do you take an "upscale" bar seriously that serves food on paper plates??? UPDATE: I received a nice reply to my review. The owner explained the disposable items were a stopgap because they couldn't find a dishwasher to hire. That is a legitimate explanation and I acknowledge and accept it. I hope he finds someone because paperplates are a bad look for a place like Huck's. I have adjusted my rating...
Read moreHonestly have no idea how this place has such good reviews. I can't think of anything positive to say about it. All of our cocktails had barely any alcohol in them and were quite expensive. The food menu is extremely limited. All the food comes out on paper plates and paper cups for the chili. It was my first time ever being served caprese salad with no greens, just a little cup of pesto on the side. The "bowl" of chili, which we were charged for even though it only has "cup" on the menu, is just a small paper cup and wasn't anything special. The pizza is on par with any microwave flatbread you can get at the store. The service was terrible even though the restaurant was not very busy. Would highly NOT recommend this place to anybody. Very disappointed and wish I had...
