Board & Brew — Restaurant in Costa Mesa

We've eaten many hot pastrami sandwiches in our travels and must say … Board & Brew Left Coast Hot Pastrami with melted Swiss Cheese, grilled Onions, mild Peppers and Dijon Mustard one of the best we’ve ever tasted! The pastrami, moist and juicy but not too juicy, was cooked to perfection, all quality ingredients integrated together beautifully on a toasted baguette and the flavor was absolutely mouth watering with every bite … enjoyed on the palate well after (they have other specialty sandwich combinations you can select also). Highly recommend … the price won’t break your piggy bank either … can now see why they are opening more locations. We’ve found a new ‘favorite’.

Update: Have been back several times experiencing consistent excellent quality and superior taste. Big 'shout out' to Jason who provides friendly, thoughtful service with attention to all the details. Thanks again! See you next time.

5.22.25 Visits in the past few months has been good.. but today.. remember the it's commercial?? "WHERE IS THE BEEF??" I ordered 6 sandwiches to go and all I see is bread. I the meat portion are half of what precious sandwiches.

8.28.24 the waitress kept chatting with men at the bar and ignored me standing in front of the cashier waiting to order. There was no eye contact or acknowledgment until she finally gave in.. everyone else is busy, except you. It is NOT a dating bar. Sandwiches are still excellent. So glad the waitress doesn't working in the kitchen.

First trip: My experience here was great, powered by GREAT service. Candice A answered a bunch of first timer questions and was just pleasant in a world of unhappy humans.

Grabbed a Left Coast Pastrami with secret sauce and it was what I would expect. Good bread, descent ratio of pastrami, warmed up and delicious.

Sat at the bar and enjoyed great conversations and service from Ricky. 12 beers/seltzer on tap. 10 other canned beer/wine. 3 TVs across the restaurant. They try to always have games going worth watching. Sure they would throw your favorite on if you ask.
