every time i buy a 1/2-pint of beans here, i receive only 1/4-pint beans, & they are 100% adulterated with an equal amount of rice.
the manager here, who says her name is estoy, claims that all miguel's jrs. do this. that is false. i have bought beans from other miguel's jrs. for years, & have befriended other miguel's jrs.' employees & managers while helping them trouble-shoot kitchen-arrangement problems after i found a sharp 1/4" sliver of metal on top of an order of their beans. if you think any of the information in this review is inaccurate in any way, i urge you to contact me & i will give you the details to identify & contact the miguel's mgr. who conscienscously dealt with the metal sliver i found in the beans order they sold me. he & his assistant told me their best theory & showed me parts of their beans-blender process: if their hardened-steel blender pieces are violently forced into the bowl, the hardware may gouge a sliver of (aluminum?) bowl & leave it in the beans. the metal was on top of, not inside of, the beans, so...i'm not convinced. but i appreciated the mgr.'s efforts.
yes, "estoy", i am already familiar with the layout of all your kitchens in regards to beans! the position of the rice pot to the beans pot does NOT require that the beans be adulterated to half-rice...& even if it did, the PROBLEM of the CONSISTENT DECEIPT is EXACTLY THE SAME:
when you agree to sell beans & they are half-beans half-rice, that is indeed adulturation & deception. i believe it's fraud.
"estoy": if you "know" that all the beans orders are really half rice, then why are you deceiving the customer by continuing to always refer to the item only as "beans" (while doing business transactions around it)? if you know that the terms are indeed a deception to the customer, then why are you still choosing to enact the same deception, all the time? why are you portraying the deception to me as CORRECT deception?! your excuses are nowhere close to excuses:
"estoy", claims that she knows that they are adulterating the beans w/ rice all the time, & explained that they have chosen to set up all their kitchens in the same manner & that therefore all miguel's jrs. effect the same deception to an equal degree all the time. again, it is FALSE to say that all miguels jrs. do this. worse, i don't think that's anywhere close to an excuse for the fraud this represents:
rice is not beans. metal slivers are not beans. lying in business can be fraud.
in recent years, i have already corresponded with miguels jr.'s headquarters, inquiring the ingredients of their beans. two out of two times, they refused to disclose this information: why does miguel's jr.'s headquarters always refuse to disclose any of the ingredients in their menu item which they only claim is "beans"?
p.s. when calling this establishment, the employee does not tell their name. if you ask their name, they still won't tell you. instead, they will put the manager on, who also does not tell their name. if you ask TWICE, you will be told it's "estoy". that "name" was spelt out for me, but i am doubting the veracity of the employees here again! ...
Read moreThis is a mixed review for this location. I love locally and go to this Miguel’s fairly often. Often enough to know their menu and quality or food and find it great enough to keep coming back. However, this Sunday, I went through the drive through (like I so often have) and ordered about $50 worth of food. Upon reaching our house, we found that an order of taquitos was missing (which we had paid for) and that one of the burritos was literally just beans wrapped in a tortilla.... I have loved this location for a long time, but this visit has left us underwhelmed. My advice is, if you notice the drive through is busy, just go inside. They can’t seem to handle a long drive through properly, and unfortunately, in my case, I paid for food that...

They dropped something I ordered on the floor, then put back in my bag to be served to me. I asked for a replacement, but... yikes. When you're that cheap with a burrito, what else are you cheap about?
Speaking of cheap, they also started limiting the hot sauce. (They didn't tell me, they just didn't put as many as I asked in the bag.) You get three per item ordered. One taco? Three hot sauce. Two taco meal with rice and beans? Also three hot sauce. Makes no sense and is cheap.
When a business is cheap with something that guests will notice, they're almost always cheap about stuff you wouldn't notice. Sanitation, expired...
