After a wonderful night at Oc Nights of lights , I took my family to sonic drive in for some of those first times, And it was terrible from the food to their service .The Assistant Manager Celeste has terrible communication skills and her customer service skills is at a level of a toddler. From the first interaction on the speaker she was Hard of hearing for the whole order and after every item asked is there anything else, I was rushed to place a order for 10 ppl, The order was never repeated back for accuracy.We waited at least 15 minutes ,When she came out she handed us the order and said receipt in the bag.Upon checking the food we were missing numerous of items,We called through the speaker and she was combative about if i was sure about what i ordered & (i knew i was because i made sure i wrote the whole order in my note before placing the order). She came to the car with One of the 4 items i told her was missing ,I asked about the sauce we requested and as I’m asking Im informing her our food is cold ,She walked off and said let me get your sauce,As she returned I’m trying to hand her the bag of cold food she says i can’t take that and where is your receipt, I gave her the same receipt covered in soda she gave me , She looked disgusted walked off to go correct the cold food. But she never looked in the bag i tried to give her with every side we ordered ice cold , Burgers cold ,Chicken tenders cold ! only thing hot was the corn dog. At this point Im irritated i get out the car to follow her because she never even found out what was wrong 😑. She came out with one fry and but I’m still missing things.. So she has to go back in again and i take the opportunity to ask was there another manger on duty ,But it wasn’t i told her i was gonna write a review and for a manager she should work on her Customer service , i have been in the food industry for 8 Years & I can say this was the worst service i’ve ever had and so disappointed in the Sonic Franchise Other ones i’ve visited in North Carolina and San Diego has Such a high standard!! I had a car full of kids and a hungry girlfriend at home. After 10 minutes queuing in the drive thru line we were still one car from the speaker box. That's when things took a turn south. For some reason the drive thru could not figure out that there was a car waiting to order and a line behind them wrapping around to the street. After calling the restaurant from my car and waiting for 10 minutes someone finally came out and told the car in front of us to move their car so it would "trigger" the drive thru. This didn't work and they eventually instructed the car to order at the window. Why the driver of that car didn't try doing something for 10 minutes, I have no idea.
Now that we made it to the speaker box I ordered the food for my girlfriend and then started ordering milkshakes for the kids. That's when they informed me that there milkshake machine was broken. After 20 minutes in line I'm only just finding out that I can't order the milkshakes I promised all my kids.
It was an incredibly frustrating situation and I will wind up having to drive to another restaurant and order milkshakes there. There was little concern by the staff and they did not answer the phone when had attempted to call. I'll likely not be returning.
I understand this is only my experience, but a bit more attention to the situation and understanding from the staff would have patched things up. They did none of that and just went on...
Read moreWould be five stars since I had been in this location often after work on weekends. Today I noticed some items aren't available apparently due to understaffing as far as I'm concerned. But today I even noticed that I got one of the different order that isn't accurate at all. One of my orders was a hot dog but I got chili tots instead which must have been switched with another customer. I also saw that it's terribly busy at 2PM today. Always, my order was always accurate from my previous visits and the food is good, but today wasn't. I would prefer the minor mistake of getting a chili cheese dog instead. Next time, please be very careful with what I'm about to receive after my orders are taken. I don't eat those tots that come with chili and I noticed they're hard and dry(or maybe because I drove home to my location a little far away since traffic jam). It's been a long time since I haven't came back but I do still come after work and I prefer that the orders shouldn't be too much hurrying for me but only making sure that the orders are not only taken correctly which is probably excellent on me on my past long time visits, but must be passed to the right customer which I suspected that happened.
