The locals and locally sponsored baseball teams call this place "Super A's". Siri calls it "navigate to nearest hole-in-the-wall Mexican food." And that's a compliment. I wanted something not formal but fun, and not franchisey but unique. Super A's fit the bill. This place almost looks like an old Denny's with the booth and bar set up. Service upon entry was with a smile and friendly. I was to-go'ing it but wouldn't mind dining in if it meant a hot plate and a nice large horchata. My first sight was the piles of chips under the heating lamp... and that always puts a smile to anyone's eyes.
-=-Beef Taquitos-=- Standard and crispy. They toss in guac and sour cream in there like all the other places do. Nothing significant to report, but it is on par.
-=-Al Pastor Burrito-=- Wasn't a fan of the meat in this. Spit pork is usually not as oily as Super A's had it, so I got meated out after finishing my burrito. Also, the sear was pretty charred on every bite of this. I typically don't like my al pastor this way, but I guess to each his own. Not my preference.
-=-Carne Asada Burrito-=- More shredded than cubed for the meat in this one. It was quite delicious also. The steak was thin cut and charred the same way that the Al Pastor was, but was a lot tastier. I enjoyed this tremendously. Next time I'd probably get this with all meat. The beans were layed in there pretty thick, but for the pieces of carne that I tasted, it...
ย ย ย Read moreFirst time here. I don't want to be too harsh because I see excellent reviews and pictures of delicious food.
My 7 person group came here for taco Tuesday. I was overall pretty unimpressed. Perhaps I should have tried food that was on the menu instead of just the inexpensive tacos. They really weren't anything to write home about. I will say tho, the salsa that the put on the table was delicious.
I ordered a sipping tequila - "neat." What annoyed me was that this came in a shot glass. Why would you put a higher quality tequila ordered "neat" in a tall, thin shot glass? I don't understand that.
My last complaint. It seemed like service was so so. Our waiter wasn't particularly attentive. First I thought that maybe he didn't expect a good tip to begin with because of the younger crowd I had come with. But it wasn't that- our bill included an automatic gratuity of 18%. Perhaps this is why the server was not concerned with the level of attentiveness. I'm am not sure.
I probably won't go out of my way to go back. But I would not turn down an invite from a friend. It looks like they have a number of interesting dishes on their...

Let's start by saying Celio is one of the best hosts we've had in and out of Cali. This was our last day in Cali, and we wanted mexican cuisine.
As soon as we arrived in the restaurant, Celio greeted us with a big genuine smile ๐, he was absolutely great! Helped us choose the best dishes on the menu !
Now, when we tried the Carne assada wet burrito, chille rejelllenos, Sopa de menudo, everything we ordered , we were deeply disappointed for not having found this place a week before so we could come every single day !!!!
The taste, the textures , and flavors were simple, delicious, out of this ๐!
Seriously, I was observing other tables' orders, and the place was packed, but we didn't wait long for our orders, and everything looks soooo good. I'll get the shrimp cocktail next time. It was huge and looks delicious!
Thank you for the amazing experience , in your homie, family oriented place! ๐ This is a family's...
