A great new spot for breakfast and lunc . I'll admit I wasn't optimistic when I heard two sisters went in to business together but it was great . Every dish I saw go by looked good and every dish that came to the table was good. then I overheard one of The Twins telling another customer that they had been in the restaurant business for years and also the gal I was having lunch with told me that one of the husbands was in back cooking and that he had been a long time chef at one of Santa Rosa's finer dining restaurants. That experience makes for good service and good food!!
We had a small cup of italian wedding soup to start which was delicious. The Ruben sandwich was crispy, surprisingly lean corned beef, with a generous side of very fresh potato fries. The kind that look and taste like fresh cut potatoes. I had the eggs with bacon that actually came crispy but not burned (A+ for that) for my toast I ordered the biscuit with a side of gravy (don't judge me I was craving a full fat meal) the gravy had large chunks of nicely spiced breakfast sausage. I'm not usually a gravy gal because nobody makes this kind of gravy!! I can't WAIT to go back just for that. The potatoes were good, I could have eaten more so I just ate some of my friends French Fries because she has so many. We saw a great looking burger and eggs Benedict at the table next us. We also heard a meat slicer in back FRESHLY slicing meat for a sandwich, another good sign.
The server asked if we had room for beignets (no) but my friend ordered them anyway. I'm not a fan but these were still very good. They give me heartburn- every donut every time - it's something about the fried bread. But man they were delicious and correctly made like in Louisiana or at Parish Cafe in town.
The building is a no frills, clean country-style diner that is a reflection of the owners being focused on the food not the frills. I expect they will add more clutter as they go but for now it's got minimalistic decor with only the necessities and a very concise menu. So if you go in there judging the fact that they look like they just opened THEY DID so don't be rude about it. They're doing a great deal better for a fledgling restaurant than you usually see in the first weeks of an opening.
One request, maybe as an occasional special take that AWESOME corned beef, shred it a little, and make a corned beef hash breakfast. All the places in Cotati have terrible corned beef hash and the twins would do such a better...
Read moreThis place was super cute! There was quite a wait for a Sunday morning but ooh was it worth it! We were surprised to be greeted and seated by a young lady who ended up being a twin! We thought we were seeing double! Lol! Our waitress was so welcoming and pleasant! And guess what?? She's a twin too! Haha! We ordered the double take with french toast, pancake combo, the half order of biscuits and gravy and the daily special of pulled pork and eggs. French toast was crispy, just how I like it! Pancake combo was huge! 2 large pancakes with freshly made whipped cream and strawberries. Biscuits and gravy....ooh! Fresh made biscuits with an ample amount of sausage gravy! One of the best I've ever had! Lastly the pulled pork special, soft, juicy and tender. I think the homemade jam for the toast topped the cake on that dish.
Love the hospitality! This was a gem to find on our way home from Monte Rio vacation. Thank you The Twins restaurant for the great brunch! If we ever come back to the area, we will definitely stop by here...
Read moreDON’t GO TO THIS RACIST PLACE!!! Was driving through and decide to drop by and grab breakfast. We travel on the weekend with our small dog so we requested outside seating and put our name on the waitlist. Took the dog for a stroll near the area but stay close so we can hear when they call us. Keep seeing them seating people that come after us and one of the couples has a dog too. I went over to ask them why hasn’t we been call yet when we are on top of the waitlist but people that come after us already sitting down drinking. The worker say they can’t read the name on the list and someone told them it was a couple with a dog so they just sit the other couple down without bother asking if they are on the waitlist. Are you telling a grown adult worker can’t read “ Ken” on the list and mistake a young Asian couple with a small dog with an old Caucasian couple with a German Shepard? Not one but three couples that come after us were seated before us. I didn’t know racism still exist this day and age in California in...
