This place used to be our family favorite. We have been coming here for years. In-laws and all our adult children loved to come here. We can't come any more. We were discriminated against and were turned away at the door. I guess they will turn you away if you are black or Jewish unless you don't mind sitting at the back of the bus or donning your yellow star or face diaper (mask) They have no consideration for your constitutional rights and civil rights. Buyer beware! This family favorite has turned into the enemy within our American borders. We could not pass without donning a mask. Our family does not wear masks for very personal and religious reasons. Governor Herbert or his idiot side kick Cox are not qualified by the constitution of the US to enact laws independent of the law making process. A mandate is not a law. People can decline to follow mandates if the mandate is unconstitutional and ineffective or dangerous. Particularly when the mandate has NO SCIENTIFIC bearing or evidence that it works. Mask wearing just made people look foolish and fearful and sick. You did not offer a mask you told us we had to purchase them for a dollar each just to walk to our table. The establishment was practically empty; we only saw one or two other guests because we came at a less busy time. Masks wearing is symbolic of fear. Our trust is in the Lord who created us and His divine creation does not rely on a worthless mask to override and replace our God given immune systems. We weren't sick. We believe people are honorable enough not to go to work when they are sick and spread diseases. A mask is not going to protect anyone including the wearer. The masks do not look or act like a safety device or a just in case you're are too stupid to know whether or not your sick. They look like you simply live in fear. Once you touch the sickening face diaper you are spreading your germs all over the place, everything you touch. Masks give a false sense of security. We were very discriminated because of our beliefs. We didn't argue at all. It's your restaurant your rules. We just quietly left without argument. But the way you arbitrarily would not allow us to be seated without the nazi mask made us feel very discriminated against. I would love to return to your restaurant and support your family business and we have thought about it several times but we fear you will retaliate because we declined your masks at a very horrible time in...
Read moreThis is the first review on Google I’ve created. I stopped by this restaurant as it was near an event I had attended. I stopped by around 4pm. The place was sparsely occupied. I was seated and provided w/chips and salsa (green and red); the green salsa was the singlehandedly the only food I tried that was decent, to be fair, it was actually pretty good. I ordered a Chile relleno and a piña colada. The plate presentation reminded me of the 90s in Utah, when few if any ethnic restaurant were available. Slim pickings and the only ppl to cater to we’re folks that found comfort in bland, Americanized versions of said food; those w/an underdeveloped palate. Onto the food… Salsa aside the food was one of the worse “Mexican” meals I’ve had o date. It’s as though they didn’t even try to appear authentic. Forget the taste, which was bad, but the actual preparation was almost comical. My Chile relleno, which is suppose to be made up of a green Chile stuffed w/Mexican cheese, dipped in egg batter then fried, came in the form of an fried of omelette. I think 1/8 inch fried wrap made of egg, inside a massive amount of American cheese and get this, no Chile! Instead they placed a thin slice of Chile and embedded into the cheese pool. I’ve never seen anything like it. It tasted heavy, greasy and unappetizing. The dish had a side of rice and beans - the beans were fine, the rice however was identical to the rice you’d find at Taco Bell. Flattened rice that had some sort of Mexican spice package mixed in. The pina colada was also okay however it was topped with a gallop of whip cream. In sum, referring to this place as a Mexican restaurant would be a disgrace. I’m not sure how they stay in busy. I suspect people go intending to eat something foreign and exotic but are instead duped into eating low grade, cheaply prepared...
Read moreDUMBFOUNDED!!! Ok so I think I should start with 2 things. First I am from Arizona and know Mexican food like it’s my job. Second I have my food handlers license.
Ok so I order the 2 burrito combo that has carnitas and white sauce. It showed up in about 3-5 minutes after ordering and had Pico on top of it after I ordered it without any onion or tomato. I cut into the right side of it and it was ice cold. I then cut into the middle and found it was warm. I was obviously concerned by this but decided to try to power through because I figured the meat had been precooked anyway. The sauce was horrible and the burrito was almost solid rice. In the waitresses defense she did ask me how the food was I replied fine. I was there with my wife and in-laws so I was trying to avoid making a fuss.
As dinner came to an end I very politely and casually asked the waitress if she could remove or discount the burrito from the check. I had not eaten any of it and I explained to her that it was cold. She came back and had discounted the burrito 50%. Having some previous restaurant experience I was dumbfounded by this. I have never been to a restaurant where I have complained about food and not got it taken off the bill completely. I have even been to restaurants where I have not said anything but clearly something was wrong with the food and they removed it without me having to ask.
Honestly, I think the thing that bothered me most was the attitude of the waitress after I made the request. She acted insulted which seems like a strange response unless she was the owner or chef. Not much to write home about...
