Where to start. Half the hash browns were cold. The other half were warm. But all of the hash browns were mushy. The kitchen forgot to add our meat to our skillets. Then the waitress proceeded to add the meat to them to make up for this. The meat was cold when it was added as it wasn't actually cooked with the meal. Sliced cheese was used on the cheesy hash browns, I couldn't believe they decided that sliced cheese was the way to go. The pancakes were cooked on a griddle that likely hasn't been cleaned very well. They were oddly dark and tasted like old oil. The kitchen gave my wife old rotten tasting tomatoes on her skillet and when the first server was told she didn't even make an attempt to notify the kitchen. ( I know this because I watched her go serve other tables directly after and never went to the kitchen). We wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Β Β Β Read moreLegends was a solid mix of the good with the bad. A small town cafe feel with a "greasy spoon" menu. If you stop reading here remember this if it's a pastry, it's going to be amazing. The staff is warm and friendly even to the young couple obviously out of their target demographics which alone would make me want to give them a second chance. We ordered from across the breakfast menu: skillet with sausage and egg over medium, pancakes, cinnamon roll, raspberry strudel, omelette, bacon, and coffee (cream and sugar). Simply put the food(with exception to the pastries) was lacking in almost every capacity. The omelette and skillet were loaded with pre-packaged and frozen onions and peppers (soft, soggy and flavorless) which was only outshined by the sliced plastic cheese. The hash browns of the skillet were piled up resembling the consistency closer to unseasoned molten mashed potatoes in the middle (indicative of frozen instead of fresh). The pancakes touted as "really popular" by the waitress were dense, heavy, and flavorless.
Curiously before our meal the waitress brought out a bottle of house made salsa which frankly removed any ability to taste the remainder of my food despite being told it wasn't very spicy.
This place has a lot of potential but the first thing they need to do is lead with what they are good at (the pastries) and rethink or simplify the rest of the breakfast menu so they can start with...
Β Β Β Read moreIβve spent a lot of time over many years of my life eating at Legends (Duncanβs.) Sadly, everything that once made this place the absolute best spot to get breakfast in the metro area is a thing of the past. I expect this is due to the new owners and or management.
This ghost of a restaurant is basically just generic, commodity breakfast food at this point. If you read through the reviews youβll see that every single thing that made Duncanβs (now Legendβs) unique has either changed or has been removed.
Just to use one example. Everybody universally LOVED the hash browns. They were unique and exclusive to Duncanβs. Everyone raved about them. You can go to any breakfast joint and get hash browns. But these hash browns. Man. They were different. So of course what did the new owners change? The hash browns. Business 101 and common sense says that this was very obviously a dumb thing to have done. But they did. And what a shame that is.
But anyway. To keep this review short. Just go somewhere else if you want good food. The place you once knew and loved has died and will...
