Taste of China — Restaurant in Council Bluffs

Taste of China has apparently no problem stealing money from their customers. I placed an order online for pickup and selected 10% as a tip, which was roughly $3. Seeing as they provided no service to me yet i felt this was appropriate. I showed up to pickup my order and was told my total was now $40, which was a shock to me considering online it told me my total was $30. i didn’t question it and assumed i was wrong or maybe my selections had added on fees of some sort, but no. They had gone in after i placed the order and changed the tip to $10, which is ridiculous considering like i said before, i had received no service. i’m a bartender for a living so i know what it’s like to make tips, but you would never catch me scamming my guests to line my pockets. I called and asked what happened because i did not type in $10 and there is no $10 button/selection online. the person who answered was so rude and said “you want your money come back and get it.” I had paid cash so there is no other way for me to get a refund. I feel so stupid for ever supporting this business, for years i have told people that this place has the best chinese food in cb. i will never be...

I’ve been eating here for 30!!!!! Years!!!! It’s always been a family favorite!!! They have THE BEST crab rangoons but everything I ordered today was full of oil!!!! So much oil it literally seperated from the brown sauce on my plate!! I ordered vegetable stir fry!! I couldn’t soak it all up with a paper towel My husband ordered honey chicken and the bottom of his container was swimming in oil too

It was so bad I had to throw away my 12$$ meal. Now I feel awful and sick They don’t have the lady at the front anymore. Everyone’s complaining about the guy at the counter.. well it’s all true A place that used to be wonderful 100% of the time is now hit and miss. Sometimes it’s great and sometimes it’s really not which sucks!! But I’ve never in my life great so much oil served to me before

I think the critical people are posting with a narrow lense. The service is so so because of the language barrier. If you're looking for the good stuff, look no further. I knew in an instant that this would be good when I first walked in. If your looking for a place to be serviced real nice, find an americanized comfortable place.These are are good hearted, hard working people directly from Asia just trying to make it by (likely as a family) and their quality of food is uncompromising. Their focus is serving good food. They may not be flexible in substitutes, but they have very cheap prices. It is obvious every dollar counts. Their sweet n sour chicken is the best in town - the way they fry the chicken is masterful and rich. I don't know else how to exain. The low mein is exceptionally good.
