Main Street Cafe — Restaurant in Council Bluffs

I went here looking for a Mom, and Pop diner experience. Let me tell you how I appreciated it. The service was wonderful for a small town Cafe, and the breakfast was wonderful, I first ordered 2 eggs hashbowns, and toast with a large orange juice. I ended up adding an egg, and buying a big piece of apple pie to go, I added a five dollar tip, and the people were friendly, the whole experience ended up costing me a remarkable price of fourteen dollars and some change, including the tip. I appreciated the good old fashion hospitality of this wonderfully quaint Mainstreet Cafe. Thank you, and I will be back and tell everyone I can. Love coming here and food is great but today I brought my mom here for her birthday breakfast and it was 10:53 when we parked and the open sign was still up. As we parked right in front of the building she came a locked the door and said sorry we close at 11 and it was not even 11. She gave us 3 excuses why they closed early. They were busy. (Plenty of seating) The cook was so tired it was better than her falling and getting burned on the stove. They had a death in the family earlier this week.

They knew we just pulled up they seen us and hurried and locked the door before we got to it so they could close early. It’s very unfortunate because now we won’t be back due to the customer service and excuses...

Local cafes are always hit and miss. This Cafe has a very accommodating owners we're happy to make anything that you specifically want. This is good because it is unlikely you will want anything directly off of their menu. The layout of this structure is okay although a tiny bit Labyrinthian. Wait times for food and drink are slightly longer than acceptable. But within the Omaha Council Bluffs region it is difficult to think of anything that is particularly better. You have your Taco Bells in your burrito chain places but nothing stands out is distinctly better than a custom prepared sandwich from the main street cafe. Moreover the service is...
