Mariscos El Anzuelo — Restaurant in Covina

It was my first time here and I only tried their coctel mixta and pineapple water... so my husband says it's not a fair assessment because he really likes this place... with that being said, here's my review.

The water was a pineapple flavoring and not actually made with pineapple.

Their coctel was below average. I would've preferred more clamto (if clamato was used at all) rather than ketchup be used. My coctel was presented with mostly clear clam juice and ketchup as a topping (already added). I don't usually add ketchup to my coctel.

No avocado or cucumbers and very little tomatoes and onion. It was very plain and unfilling.

Ordered a Caldo Mixto and it was SALTY af…with only 2 shrimps and a small pc of fish, nothing else .. it was more of a vegetable soup 🤬. Also ordered a Botana Anzuelo which is a sampler but the plate was small for being $36.. it had raw shrimps unless it was part of it lol. And lastly, I got me a shrimp cocktail for like $15 bucks.. it’s a small cup with just like 6 shrimps and a small piece of avocado lol. Spent too much money for something not worth it.. never again. Tried this for the first time and I'm glad I did. They serve complimentary chips and salsa and soup. I came on "taco Monday" and they had fish tacos on special for $2!!! They were excellent and were loaded with fish. I liked it so much I came back for $2 "taco Tuesday" and the hard shell shrimp tacos were excellent as well, a little spicy but good!

It's worth noting that the service is excellent and the bathrooms are immaculate, a+ rating. They're located across from Covina burger. This location has proved difficult for prior restaurants but I certainly hope they can make it. I'll do my part to...
