not even gonna lie, I’ve eaten here quite a bit. I love Papa Johns and I think that it is one of the better pizza places in the area considering what we have competing against it. What I don’t appreciate is the lack of customer service or care for their customers. As I stated, I’ve eaten at this Madison Avenue for at least the past year now quite a bit. it is very convenient for me as a restaurant manager myself. The last handful of orders I’ve placed, I received multiple issues in those orders. One or two issues here and there never bothered me but when it started happening on a consistent basis, I started to get a little flustered so I reached out to them the last time that happened to let them know, and they gave me a credit for a hoagie that was incorrect in the order. However, the hoagie was not the only thing that was incorrect. The pizza was made wrong as well. When I called back, the store was closed, so I submitted an online inquiry and when they called me the next day about my inquiry, they were not kind whatsoever. They answered the phone and simply told me ‘ you are the one that was not happy with the refund on the hoagie so we’re giving you a full refund that you need to come pick up’. The only thing that I asked for when I submitted something online was for my food to be remade or a credit because I order here so much, never did I say that I was not happy with the refund on my hoagie because I was fine with it, I just didn’t see the other issue with the pizza initially when I called and they were closed but them stating it like that made me feel so uncomfortable, I didn’t want to go get the refund at all. Fast-forward to tonight, I called them to maybe see if they could just supply the refund as a credit so I could order some food tonight for my son and I. I was hung up on four different times before I finally got a hold of somebody to ask them because I had to get transferred from some corporate call-center due to the fact that I had a refund that I was trying to apply as a credit. They told me that I would need to talk to the restaurant manager directly and tried to transfer me, which was where they disconnected the call on me four times. I finally decided to get in my car and just give up and go and get the refund when I chose to call one more time. Someone finally answered and asked me to hold which I happily obliged. When they finally answered, I explained my situation and asked if I could use the credit to go towards my food. I tried to be very amicable when stating this, although I was already quite uncomfortable because I wanted to de-escalate the situation altogether, but unfortunately was greeted with another comment about how I was not happy with my initial food and begged corporate for a refund so they had the refund there for me and they completely invaded my ask. The guy was clearly trying to intimidate me and make me feel uncomfortable, well it worked. As a general manager of a restaurant myself, I have never witnessed such disgusting behavior from another manager, nor have I ever witnessed a store, so willing to lose customers who are so willing to work with them. You have officially lost my business, as well as made a woman feel quite uncomfortable. Management did absolutely nothing to make me feel sound of my complaints when I simply just wanted my food remade or corrected at a later date and was very cordial and amicable up until now. Now I am uncomfortable and I would highly recommend to any woman ordering here, don’t do it. This specific store seems to be filled with men who don’t care to intimidate women and make them feel uncomfortable. One thing that I can’t stand, is poor customer service. Shame on you guys for allowing this to be the...
Read moreI’d give this place a half a star, or negative stars, if optional. I just called a little before 10:30 for a delivery order. Whole family is sick and I need a break from doing everything. Rudest “woman” I’ve EVER encountered answered, on my 1st call, and said, verbatim “quit f**king calling my store” then hung up! I didn’t even know if I had the right place! I checked the contact info online and called back right about 10:31. Same hostile, aggressive and rude “lady” answered, and without asking anything , or stating store name, said “if you keep calling my store I’m calling police to trace your number”!! Doesn’t my number show up anyway?! I’ve had many mistake orders arrive from this location, but all were handled so well, I never made a complaint or posted a negative review. But it’s been close to a year since I’ve ordered. This “lady” was absolutely the MOST RUDE & Hositle phone girl, or restaurant worker, of ANY kind I have ever encountered. I’m sure they sometimes get crank calls, but that doesn’t mean you answer the phone with “f” word, when you’re not even sure it’s the same caller! Nothing I’ve ever experienced comes anywhere near close to this! Not to mention, I could barely understand her extremely slurred words. My whole family has Been in food service, even owning restaurants, and someone like this would be fired on the spot! You can’t have a person so high they don’t announce store name, or give any greeting, and then hang up, and then threaten to call cops on me! For what? Trying to order a pizza and some wings?! I asked my ten year old to call back and ask how late they deliver tonight, because they’ve told me at the store the hours posted on Google are INCORRECT (i guesss they do not feel that’s relevant enough information to correct online), but he cried and said “daddy please don’t make me talk to that mean lady”. Guessing if I did order I’d get a spit on, or somehow messed with, pizza anyway. Guess I will go look up Domino’s ph #. They’re the right by our house anyway. BOTTOM LINE- avoid this store!! Drive two miles and go to their location in Newport, where the business seems to be far more organized and professional, better staffed, and far less rude-Any other location! Whoever the call girl was tonight around 10:30, needs to go, yesterday!!! Oh, and I will be contacting their corporate location, and owners, all found easily online, tomorrow. There are a lot of decent folks that need jobs, surely this call girl could be VERY easily replaced. And probably they’d see an increase in business. I’d hate to encounter this creature that answered the phone in person! And I’ll make the drive to Newport if the kids want Papa John’s that badly! Same cost in gas as the four dollar delivery fee anyway! One last thing: I’ve only posted one other Google Review, and it was a very positive 5star one. I am not the type to make a fuss over minor things, generally. But with my son standing right here hearing her curse on speaker, and threaten with police, was just too much. Many of my family are police chiefs and lawyers. Sons of the former restaurant orders. That threat didn’t concern me one bit, but to have my son crying and sacred of a pizza call girl, just leaves me speechless. Hope others have had better experiences, but if you can avoid this facility, I sure would. Forgot to add one thing: my phone automatically records ALL calls. So the call girl can’t talk her way out of this one!! I have proof. Hopefully the corporation still cares at least a little a out customer service and ten year olds hearing “f” word yelled at...
Read moreI never leave reviews, but my experience at this Papa Johns was so outrageously bad that I couldn't not share this experience. For starters, no one working there would even acknowledge my presence, let alone assist me. The first few minutes I chalked it up to they needed to finish their tasks, but then I realized they would really leave me standing there til the end of the night if I didn't demand service. Then, I told the lady that I had an order and what the order was, and I could tell she wasn't listening/didn't care and mumbled something about it probably not being in oven. She then disappeared and when she came back I said "Excuse me, is it not ready?" and she looked at me and yelled "I DON'T KNOW". Now I had ordered this pizza 30 minutes prior so I knew it was ready and after a long day of work I really just wanted to get my pizza and go home so I said "Can you CHECK?!" and she begrudgingly went over and gets my order for me. When I checked it in the car there was only the pizza and none of the garlic cups that I ordered, so unfortunately I had to go back inside. When I entered, it sounded like she was threatening her coworker and they were screaming at each other. Again I had to make significant effort to get attention so that I could get the missing garlic cups. I have never had such a shocking and horrible customer service experience before. I'm not sure of a lot in life, but I'm sure I will never be returning to this place!! Just want a pizza, not verbal abuse. I'm only giving them 2 stars because pizza was...
