Gold Star — Restaurant in Crescent Springs

Been here a few times, usually don’t have an issue until tonight, our server was the young lady with brown and blonde highlights in her hair, we walked in and almost all of the tables had dishes on them, our server was sitting at a empty table watching videos on her phone instead of cleaning, had to ask for a menu 3 different times, the 3rd time I had to ask from across the restaurant for a menu because she was just sitting there on her phone again and we were the only people in the store eating, gave my boyfriend a dirty drink cup, and once we got our food she didn’t come over to check on us once, we didn’t even get our check at the end and had to go to the front for it, she was behind the counter just staring at us while we were trying to pay and leave and another server had to stop cleaning to come cash us out, very poor service, don’t be a server if you don’t wanna do the work, won’t be returning. (Edit: I’d understand if she didn’t hear us ask for a menu, but she acknowledged us everytime we asked for one and said “I’ll bring it right out” everytime and she just went and sat down on her phone each...

Usually I would give a good review I usually have a good experience here but last night was different I ordered to eat in from the app it didn’t give a option to tip from the app and I didn’t have cash I don’t carry cash I walked away from the table and got a rude comment from the waitress I did end up tipping her got something small to go I really wish I had a better experience I don’t know if I’ll be returning back to this location she had no reason to make a comment u never know what someone’s going through or if they can’t make food from their home for a certain reason and she could have been going through something as well but u shouldn’t take it out on customers and as a person that worked as a server before I’ve never demanded a tip or complain about not getting one it’s very unprofessional and disrespectful I just wanted to leave a review to let people know what they are...

I decided to try this location since it is closest to home than my usual Gold Star (Florence, Mall Rd) which turned out to be a mistake. I asked for Firehouse/sriracha style and was charged for it but didn’t get any sriracha or the pepper blend on any of my items, which by the way is the only reason I eat Gold Star. Luckily I have sriracha and my own pepper blend so I could still enjoy my meal but if Im not getting those things then I would have just gone to Skyline or Dixie. The real issue is do the staff know how to verify an order at this location? I’ll stick with the extra 15 minute drive to the Mall Rd location going forward.
