Hi there! We came here about three days ago on a rainy day. It was lovely at first! We at first came inside to get take out but then my boyfriend had a change of mind and wanted to eat in. We were seated and asked what we wanted to drink. My boyfriend asked for a non-alcoholic drink and I had asked for a beer. They carded me and the server gave me a weird look and took my out-of-state LEGIT ID to get it checked under a blacklight.
For whatever reason, the server couldn't believe my out-of-state LEGIT ID was real? And couldn't believe the year that I was born in? At first I was speechless, like, yes, I do appear young but that is my birth year and I am well over twenty-one years old. The comment was could of off putting and it didn't really sit well with me at all. The server explained himself that they have received non-legit/fake out-of-state IDs. From like, the neighboring states, though. My out-of-state ID is from California. I had just moved to Crescent Springs/Kentucky about a month ago.
Anyway, they still served me my beer after discovering it was actually real/legit. They gave us fresh chips and salsa and we both ordered shrimp cocktails. The cocktails took some time to bring out as another couple nearby- from what it seemed like to be regulars- were sat down after us and received their food before we did. It was overall delicious, and the server did come up eventually and asked if I wanted another beer- which I did- but the comment from the wait staff threw me off as a first time customer at this location. I had first ordered delivery from a different restaurant under the same name earlier that week and was really wanting another shrimp cocktail
The next time I come here to eat in, if there is one, I will be bringing my birth certificate to prove that I am who I say I am and my out-of-state LEGIT ID is real. I dunno, as a Latina who is new to the area (and +2700 miles away from home on her own), I don't see as many Hispanics like I used to back in California, I was hoping this place would feel like home. And it does, but eh, I may skip on the alcohol next time if it's...
Read moreI’ll start with the positives. The staff was very kind. My margarita was good. 🍹 Our waiter caught one of the mistakes (flour tortillas instead of corn) before I had even opened the tortillas and learned they were wrong. He also promptly brought back my child’s plate that was incorrect and the kitchen fixed it very quickly. The issue I had was that the food lacked seasoning. I had to add salt to all our food. On a side note, I don’t like salty food, there was literally zero salt in our food. There wasn’t any of those Mexican spices and flavors coming through like you’d expect. The salsa even tasted like cheap jarred salsa. 😢I was also underwhelmed that there was hardly any shrimp in my shrimp fajitas. I’ve eaten at several different Cancun locations and they’ve piled on the shrimp. This plate was mostly green pepper, some onion, a couple tomatoes and a few shrimp for $20. It wasn’t worth a $41 plus a tip total. Our server deserved his tip, he did a good job. The kitchen needs a refresher in flavoring and seasoning food. 😢 I did love the music selection. There were some great Latin classics played. The volume could have been a little louder because you could...
Read moreSo, my mother came up to visit last Sunday, and we went to the Crescent Springs location. She was not feeling well, so we decided to get the shrimp and chicken fajitas to go. The service was very slow for carry out, which was surprising for that type of food (I am a chef).
When we got back, we had steak and chicken fajitas with no tortilla shells, sour cream, cheese, etc. The order could not have been more wrong. Since she didn't feel well, I went to the store to buy the remaining ingredients while she laid down. I have called the restaurant every day (including calling immediately after we got back from there) for the past four days to speak with the manager, Antonio, and he is always miraculously "on break." I waited to post this, because I am not normally one to complain. Since I do this type of work, I find this to be exceptionally unprofessional. Also, I have now called three other branches attempting to get the corporate number, and there evidently isn't one, and the managers are always "on break" there as well.
I work hard for my money. I will not spend it again here. By the way, I was actually a fan of the place until I learned how they do...
