McAlister's Deli — Restaurant in Crestview Hills

I’m a frequent customer at this location. The food is always amazing, but take out is a hit or miss, and customer service is awful. I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1, just because the food is always good. I often order takeout or DoorDash and almost every time there is a mistake. I’ve never had an issue with DoorDash rectifying the issue, but it’s frustrating when it continually happens. Today, I made an order for pickup. It was estimated to be ready by 3:45. My son and I walked in at 3:40. I could see on the take-out counter that my order was ready. There were three people working in the front area/counter area. One customer was returning a dish, and was taken care of by an older man. Another customer was placing an order at the counter, and a brunette was taking care of her. Another worker, a blonde, was filling tea gallons. I was fine with this, and waited for my turn to be served. They finished with the two customers in front of me. I still waited. I moved from the main counter over to the take-out counter just in case they might have assumed I was looking at the menu. I STILL waited. Over the next 7 minutes, at least 5 people were assisted (including those with other to-go orders…) and I was completely ignored, even though the two women working had seen and made eye contact with me. My son finally spoke up and asked why it was taking so long. I told him “I guess nobody sees us”. He waved his arms and finally the brunette asked what we needed. I work around the area and come to McAlister's Deli for lunch at least once a week, if not more. In the past month or so I have noticed this establishments quality and cleanliness decreasing drastically. The past several visits I have had, have been absolutely terrible. I always place online orders, and they state the order will be ready in 20 minutes, lately I have waited at the store for 45 minutes or more. Other customers were waiting as well who were very frustrated, seeing as most of us come on our lunch break and order online because we only get 30 minute lunch breaks. As we were waiting we noticed the unsanitary conditions that the workers were showing. They were picking up spoons and forks by the end where people put their mouth on, and sticking it on the plates and delivering it to tables. Also, a gentlemen received his carryout order and was checking to insure it was correct and they gave him the wrong order. They then put his food back on the table to be used for someone else!!! After he had already picked at it to check if it was right. Absolutely disgusting. I have called corporate and apparently this location is not corporately owned, I have yet to receive a call from the owners. This location has lost my service, and all of my coworkers who will not return until these unsanitary conditions...

First time at this place. When I entered I see a menu stand just inside at the beginning of the order line. Glad to have those there to make it easier to be ready to order. Sad to pick the menu up and realize it was sticky and covered in I don't know what. Line was short for lunch on Father's Day and moved quickly. I ordered the French Dip along with a cup of chicken dumpling soup. I had an iced tea with lemon to drink. The tea was good and the lemon was a very generous slice to get all the taste you could want. The French Dip was good. The cheese was melted right, the roast beef was plentiful and had good flavor, and the baguette bread was very good. It had the right amount of airiness to it to make it light. The chicken dumpling soup was their soup of the day. The flavor was very good and the dumplings were even properly cooked. The one thing it lacked was heat. It arrived luke warm at best. The service in getting our food to the table was quick and polite. I even had a chance to use the restroom which was in good shape. I have heard a lot of good things about this place and I will be giving them another opportunity to wow me in the...
