Just left there. I travel from coast to coast and Applebee's is one of my frequently-visited restaurants. This one was a train wreck. I sat at the bar and Marcela and Amanda were the bartenders. I got there and no tall beer glasses available. Ok, I can get over that and waited. And waited. And waited. And waited. Finally, I told Amanda that I was ready to order an appetizer. Midway through my appetizer I had to ask for silverware. Marcela says, "you only get a fork" No knife. Ok, I can get over that even though I needed it. Finished my app and waited....and waited....and waited for them to ask me if I wanted to order. My beer got low so Marcela did ask me if I wanted a beer but under her breath. When I looked up, I realized she was talking to me. I then told her that I wanted to order an entry - she took my order. In the meantime, another male customer was at the end of the bar and had been there for a bit. While they talked to their friends who sat at the bar about her wedding dress and some paint job she needed to get done, he patiently waited. He started bouncing his phone off the counter in hopes to get their attention - nothing. They kept socializing and talking about a fellow employee that got to go home early when they wanted to. And don't even get me started about the kitchen and how they were hootin' and a'hollerin' back there. Hey look.....I'm all about having fun at work but when it gets distracting on the floor? The guy finally said something and got their attention. I am all about supporting waitresses and bartenders and am normally very generous.....but when your service is crap, you get a crappy tip. My bill was $35 and I left $3.00. That is NOT like me. But when your paycheck depends on the service you give, you better be on your game with every single customer.
I will say the food was good. The guy who delivered my food spilled quite a few fries off my plate when he set it down......he apologized and gave me some more fries. But all that is clouded when your service doesn't even...
Read moreWent here to get some bourbon street chicken with my boyfriend and it was a nice time to get out of the house and eat a nice meal. I’ve always loved the bourbon street chicken. I seen no problems with the food that I had gotten and thought the chicken was moist and the potatoes were nice and crispy on the outside and the shrimp onions and mushrooms were grilled perfectly The onion rings I got as an appetizer were good. They had a nice crunchy breading that I really liked. Only issue is they didn’t have a sauce specially for the onion rings like every other place I’ve gone to that has onion rings so I had to eat them plane. The waitress seemed knowledgeable about the food and what was in it when I asked about what kind of cheese in in the French onion soup which made me feel happy. I would have gotten French onion soup but I wasn’t sure if the cheeses in it were safe during pregnancy so I got onion rings instead. But she seemed nice and helpful and that was a plus. I didn’t notice cause I was smelling foods but my boyfriend said they had an odd smell inside the building, probably the carpets from people spilling food and drinks and carpets being harder to clean than hard floors. Another thing that happened on another visit is that when my boyfriend ordered the baby back ribs they were cold in the center and they needed taken back and microwaved and the bourbon street chicken was not as well grilled as the first visit. The onions were still pretty white and the shrimp didn’t have as much time on the grill as the first time other. It was still good but not as good as the first visit though. The pictures included are of the foods from the...
Read moreVisited this Applebee’s a couple of years ago. Gave it a 3-star or “average” rating (being generous). Didn’t think I’d stop there again; however, a recent stay-over- in Crestview, FL provided a chance for a “do over”. Well, my (our) experience with this Applebee’s only got worse. We had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated even though the restaurant was not that crowded and empty tables were available. Besides checking people in, but looking not very sure about how to do it, the hostess had to bus tables and then set up for the next customers, some of which included parties larger than six people. My husband and I ordered from the two for $25.00 menu. I had had the Chicken Tender plate and he had the 4 Cheese Mac & Cheese with Honey Pepper Chicken Tenders. To say that both meals were extremely disappointing is being generous. Pitiful might be a better description. The Chicken Tenders on both plates were dried out and vastly overcooked. you couldn't cut them with a knife, but you could manage to pull them apart with your fingers. The fries were somewhat cold and limp. His 4-Cheese Mac was pathetic. It was not a Mac and cheese but a pile of penne pasta with some kind of white liquid poured over it that settle to the bottom of the plate. Neither of us really ate any much of our meals. There was also an upcharge added to the $25.00 for our selections which we did not notice when ordering. That was the final straw. No more chances for this Applebee’s. As mentioned in my review a few years ago....this place is...
