I never got to try the bubble tea here. I'm giving it 1 star purely based on my interaction with the staff. I've never left a review on any restraunt or food establishment. I am not a critique by any means. However, the way I was treated by the staff here wasn't acceptable.
I went to St Louis bubble tea last night, I arrived there at 8:15 pm, the website, google and the times at the door stated the place closed at 9pm. It was storming and pouring rain. When I got there the doors were locked, the staff then mouthed that they were closed from inside the establishment. I tried to get some clarification as to why but they just kept mouthing we're closed. I wanted to know if they closed at 8pm all the time or if it was just specifically that day. I mimed if they could open the door so I could get a better understanding and ask a question, the staff shook their head saying no and one of the people who worked there rolled her eyes and with a patronising grin, waved bye at me and then proceeded to use the "shoo" hand gesture, all this while I was being drenched by the rain.
I stayed there wanting to know for future reference when they closed and they ignored me, shood me off and left me outside in the rain. She eventually told me from the inside that it was just for the day shouting across the glass window with my ear pressed against the glass. Needless to say it left a bitter taste in my mouth and I won't be going back...
Read moreThis was one of my favorite places to go for a casual dinner and drinks. The last few times I've been in was nothing but pure disappointment. I wish I could give them 0 stars. The worker there was always rude and made it feel like he didnt even want to serve you. I noticed that he was even rude and unfriendly to his coworkers, like he was better than them. Maybe he was the manager? They never keep to their hours. They say they're closed at 9pm, but dont even try going there at 7:55pm. By that time they're already putting the tables and chairs up and pushing customers away saying that their kitchen is already closed. And most of their drinks are sold out.. If this is the case then their closing hours should be 7pm. The staff is unfriendly and does not have customer service skills. They do not want to serve you. Even the owner's wife is eager to close the shop down at 8pm, and they will turn off their phones at 7:55 so that you can not call in to place a togo order. Again, if this is the case, they should just close at 7pm, instead of giving their customers false hopes for a casual dinner and drinks. Jason should come out from the kitchen more often and see what goes on in the front of the store. This family's business has been around for many many years and is well known within the St. Louis area between this location and the delmar location. I just hope this location picks up on their...
Read morePretty good drinks, decent food, but terrible atmosphere. Never mind the fact that they're so cheap that you are either sweating while there in the summer or shivering without a coat in the winter, but the young male manager is a total jerk, to put it nicely.
The store's hours were clearly listed as closing at 11pm and I called to confirm this as well. It was 10 pm and they started turning off all the lights.. There were still about 10 people in the store which is a good amount for this place. After a few minutes, the guy came out yelling like Leonidas, "ALRIGHT GUYS, LETS WRAP IT UP!" There was dead silence, all the customers got up and left the store immediately in continued silence... almost in shock. Please tell me, why and how is it the customers' fault for not getting up an hour earlier than the place is said to close and why the heck are you yelling?
I go here a lot and this kind of bitterness and cold interaction is NOT uncommon. The guy just acts like a huge jerk and always has a nasty look on his face like he would rather be any where else but there and pretends like all of his customers are beneath him. This isn't any way to run a business. Jimmy needs to work on his attitude... NO ONE feels welcome around him. I choose St. Louis Bubble Tea on Olive as a hangout place not nearly as often as I would if the atmosphere...
