My husband and I had an appointment in Huntley and we decided to stop at Arby's. We hadn't eaten at an Arby's for a while and I had a taste for a beef sandwich and potato cakes. I love potato cakes so much that they are the main reason I wanted to go to Arby's.
We went to order our food, I didn't see potato cakes on the menu. I figured as they are Arby's specialty they should be available.
Nope. I ordered potato cakes and the kind young man at the register said they didn't have them. I asked if they were out of them or if they didn't carry them. He said they didn't serve them anymore.
I was astounded. Potato cakes are the reason I ever go to Arby's. That and mixing Arby's Sauce with Horsey Sauce on my beef sandwich.
I asked if I could get potato cakes at other Arby's. The young man said he thought none of the Arby's carried them anymore.
I am sad. Now, I either have to wake up early once in a while and go to McDonald's (where I rarely ever frequent) for breakfast hash brown or do without. Not that deep fried potatoes are good for anyone, but I don't eat fast food often.
I guess I probably won't eat at Arby's anymore. I can mix horse radish and BBQ sauce at home. No potato cakes means no more visits to Arby's for me.
Yes, there were other choices of side dishes. Curly Fries covered with MSG (gross) or French fries. I got the French fries and they were below mediocre. They aren't worth the trip. (Potato cakes would be worth the trip, by the way.)
The young man at the check out was kind and polite. He did his job well. No complaints there.

Read moreI came here yesterday for lunch between classes, and had a subpar experience. When I got there, there was an angry lady up front with a wrong order that took multiple attempts for the GM to correct. I noticed because I had to spend a fair amount of time in line waiting to be acknowledged. By the time I got to the counter, I was mildly greeted then by the GM. She wasn’t very friendly and kept yelling things in Spanish to her staff, which gave off a bad vibe. I ordered a Classic, curly fries, and mozzarella sticks. The timing was decent, as I knew they had Classics premade and fries seating under the heat lamp. By the time I sat down, my Classic was on the low end of warm. My fries were probably made a few minutes before, though the mozzarella sticks were on point (because they have to make them fresh every time). I enjoyed my meal nonetheless at the dirty table I had to sit at. I’m a former Arby’s GM, and I will always come back but I was disappointed at the quality of food and customer service. Unfortunately, this is the closest one to me and by MCC but it was still good enough that...
Read moreBen took my order today (I have no affiliation with him, but credit where credit is due!). Although the restaurant was a little busy, my order was up quickly, and I certainly enjoyed the smell of the cooking did while I waited. Ben did not hesitate to give me the generous amount of sauce I requested and the order was perfect! I really appreciate that I was able to get the amount of sauce I requested because I grew up with Arby's and the sauce is what makes everything stand out for me, curly fries included. This location does not have a space for customers to grab their own sauce packets (I'm not sure if any locations do), but it is a great idea in order to help them keep their prices down since Arby's has always been on the higher side of the price range for fast food. Overall, excellent service and atmosphere. Thank you Ben and the other gentleman working behind the scenes at 7:30pm on...
