Richard Walker's Pancake House — Restaurant in Crystal Lake

Somthing has changed. It is obvious that Richard is in California. When I want basted eggs This is Where I Come. The eggs were not based it like they usually were outside of the eggs were like a fried egg which I totally hate. I asked for crispy bacon, I've worked in the restaurant industry for 30 years, this bacon was cooked in a deep fryer. I could not eat it. Pancakes were not fluffy likely use they were they were very dense and seemed a bit overcooked but somehow the middle was not cooked? The corned beef hash was okay. But was not crispy and tasty like it normally was. Overall I was very disappointed I have been coming here for years but it seems that since I haven't been here in a while and Richard is in California that things and quality have gone down. This is my favorite place to go for pancakes and this was the only restaurant that could make basted eggs. What happened here?

9/17/21- I went back here after a manager emailed me regarding this review. I went there today. Once again I was disappointed. I ordered a side of corned beef hash they came out literally black burnt I couldn't eat more than half of it and was very disappointed. I ordered the special Chicken and Waffles. The chicken to me was the equivalent of Tyson chicken figures that were deep-fried there was so much breading on them that there was very little chicken to them at all. The waffle was warm like it has been sitting in the window for a while. Needless to say this is the third time that I have tried to go back here as one of my former favorite breakfast places and this will be the last time that I come out here. Richard Walker’s Pancake House is amazing! This place is highly recommended! Their best seller here is their Dutch Pancakes. It is very popular and it is also the favorite of their customers. It is savory and cheesy, and it has onion, tomato, and broccoli. It was so delicious and incredibly made! They have a huge menu and it is full of wonderful offers and affordable as well. The portions here were so fair and good. This is the best pancake house I have ever been to! Very clean place, neat, organized, and well-decorated. They have plenty of seating and the whole place is well-maintained. They also have a big parking lot. That is why all of the customers are comfortable and really enjoyed the place. The comfort rooms are very clean and nice. They also have very nice outdoor seating and it has umbrellas. Very nice and convenient spot! Their staff here is very fast, focused, and attentive. All of them are doing their job properly. Great customer service! If you still have not visited this place until now, you should give it a try! They will meet your expectations and won’t disappoint you. You will definitely be going to love their menu here. Richard Walker’s Pancake House is excellent! Livid. I called two weeks ahead of time for Father's Day reservations. We showed up and then were told they do not take reservations on Father's Day. I told the manager that I called and was given reservations and he said it was not possible basically calling me a liar. Then the girl behind the register admitted that she was the one who took my reservations (in front of the manager), that it was her first week and she didn't know any better. Once she confessed the manager should have done the right thing and honored the reservations and instead said he could put us on a list with an hour minimum wait. So disappointed that this is how they conduct business. I easily could have made reservations elsewhere had their employees known their policies but you don't make your patrons pay for the lack of employee training. That's not how you stay in business. The manager may not have the level of business training to know the dollar value associated with a bad review but I hope all of you who read this help him get the message loud and clear. I'm so tired of these businesses that think there are enough other people willing to support their business that they don't care about their patrons. I even told the manager that I was a big reviewer and he just basically laughed at me and said to go right ahead.
