Summer Moon Coffee — Restaurant in Crystal Lake

Tried the Jan flavor of the month coffee which the barista said was between a light and med blend. I had the 1/4 moon milk, which is their sweetened cream filled 1/4 of the way in the cup. Both the barista and a woman in line said the creamer was very sweet, so not to start with the 1/2 creamer, which is actually the most popular option. I'm not used to sugar in my coffee - I use stevia - so this was a different taste for me. Wasn't a big fan of this creamer or the coffee, to be honest. Not sure if they have regular cream but they do have whole milk and non-dairy options.

Disappointed to find they don't use "real" coffee mugs for in-house use. Coffee is served in paper cups with plastic lids. 👎

Tried to pay with cash and was told they were cashless since it was safer. But yet they had a huge fishbowl right by the register stuffed with cash...

This is the slowest coffee drive thru I’ve ever experienced. I waited until the 10th time of sitting in the drive thru for over 15 minutes with only 3 cars including myself to make this review. I’ve wanted to do this for a while but felt bad.. but this happens every time without fail. I’ve even ordered ahead, got there 10 min after ordering, no one in the drive thru and I’m still waiting for my order. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I think they have one machine? That would be the only way this makes sense but even so…. You’re charging a ridiculous amount for coffee so you should be able to buy another machine... If you’re looking for a quick coffee, this is not the place. My neighbors and I refer to it as the “Culver’s of coffee drive thrus”. Done with it. No sense of urgency. Super cute coffee ☕️ house near the edge of town with a fantastic atmosphere and styling. My first experience here was so good that I go out of my way to get coffee from them as often as possible.

Emily H is the type of individual you imagine when you dream up the perfect customer hospitality employee. She makes a point of greeting me when I come by even when she is in back tending to other things.

My Wife loves the taste of coffee but isn't drinking anything caffinated currently while nursing and that includes DeCaf Espresso. So finding a drink she enjoys is extremely difficult. They do a non-caf version of their Toasted Smores drink with half Moon Milk and half Oat Milk that she is in love with.
