I came here Thursday around 3 when the shop opened and was welcomed by the worker at the front. She gave me the Yelp paper so I can scan the QR code to check in and made the process seamless and easy. She then told me I can pick one cookie and a scoop of ice cream and asked if I wanted to sample any of the ice cream. She ended up letting me sample all 4 flavors from San Girl Creamery. To my surprise they were all not too sweet. The highlight flavor was the guava jam. It was a vanilla base with guava jam folded into the ice cream. I was hesitant to do the brown butter chocolate chip cookie with the guava jam because I didnât think the flavors would go together but she said sheâs seen people pick crazier combos and they usually go well together. The flavors ended up pairing harmoniously together and my friend and I were both happy campers.
The top row of cookies were on warmers so that would probably be the best pick for the a la mode. I went ahead and picked 3 cookies to order as well. Each cookie was around $5 and the black sesame mochi cookie was $1 more. I saw they had a 5 cookie for $20 bundle and decided to add more cookies. After choosing black sesame, ube pandan, guava jam and mango sticky rice I asked her to choose the remaining flavor. She ended up adding the Mayan chocolate and strawberry passion fruit. All the cookies tasted fresh and were not too sweet. You can literally taste all the different ingredients inside. The cookies did not stand a chance and were gone within 2 days.
There was ample parking outside the store and close by to other businesses as well. I would definitely be coming back whenever I have a...
Read moreIt takes a lot to impress me when it comes to baked treats, especially cookies and Lei'd hands down is one of the best cookies I have ever had. Their menu has incredibly diverse and interesting flavors and they're doing something that I've never seen specialty cookie shops do before. For example the guava cheese incorporates goat cheese that is sooo perfectly balanced, most people probably wouldn't have noticed it. Their cardamom pistachio is so different from any sugar cookie or snickerdoodle that I've had. The cookies are large and soft, but not underbaked. For the price ($6 per cookie, 4 for $20, etc.), this is 100x better than anything crumbl, levain, etc. have to offer in terms of quality ingredients and thoughtful flavors.
I tried them at Smorgasbord (10AM-4PM every Sunday at The Row DTLA) where the co-owner James handled the tent. He was incredibly nice, chatting with everyone but keeping the line moving efficiently, and you can really tell how passionate they are about their small business. I wish Lei'd the best of luck and will be recommending them to anyone who has a chance of trying...

Globally inspired but locally owned, quality Ingredients immediately differentiating Leiâd from cake-like competitors such as crumbl, it is inside the space at 8588 Washington Boulevard that guests will encounter charming customer service and a vibe matching the island theme.
Changing the menu seasonally, though Mango Sticky Rice remains a signature for good reason, guests visiting in December will find holiday-themed Egg Nog Creme Brulee that outpaces expectations while Triple Ginger Molasses is just sweet enough to match its bold aromatics.
Not holding back with Black Sesame dough wrapped around Raspberry Mochi, each bite reminiscent of a PB&J Sandwich, even âstandardsâ like Oatmeal get upgraded by flavors like Orange Walnut while Lieâdâs Snickerdoodle takes a Latin spin...
