Edit: Company ordered Ike's for an event. The sauces make the bread pretty soggy after awhile. Also, the beef sando we selected was made with ground beef which tasted off. Maybe I am just not used to loose pieces of ground beef.
PSA (as of the date of my review): If you order pickup, the prices for this store are $2-$3 more expensive than other nearby locations like West San Jose, Santa Clara, and even Santana Row. For example, the Madison Bumgarner is $17.35 here, but $14.41 at the other locations; the Matt Cain is $15.95 here and $13.25 at the other stores. Just sayin', in case the other locations are about as convenient for you. The prices are more expensive in store as well, but to a lesser degree.
I have gotten Ike's at the OG SF location when they first opened in 2007, and thought it was pretty good. But since then, it has gone steadily downhill, and I discovered more savory sandwiches. For specialty sandwiches, I'd say Ike's is not that great. The dirty sauce is pretty sweet if you actually like that. They don't give as much protein as they used to so you'll mostly be eating bread. I would say the quality is as good as a $9-$11 sandwich you can get at a cafe or Whole Foods deli, so they do make it fresh and the ingredients taste of decent quality but it is not worth the price tag imo.
They do have a variety of options for vegetarians, which is a plus.
The service was fine and they have two...
Read moreIke's is not bad but very, very expensive. At the end of the day you are getting a sandwich. It does taste great but it's hard to play $10+ for a sandwich.
They have an extensive selection of sandwiches and you can only view their full menu online or by downloading their app. I've tried quite a few of their sandwiches but always go back to the menage a trois on dutch crunch which tastes amazing with added avocado, bacon, or both! Keep in mind that the more thing you add... the more expensive your $10 sandwich becomes!! Sometimes the lettuce to other ingredients ratio is WAY off and my sandwich turns into a big soggy lettuce sandwich, which really is not worth $10+ dollars.
Their vegetarian selection is quite good so this is a nice spot if you are dining with a vegetarian friend.
I have ordered via their app when I know the store is crowded during the lunch rush of De-Anza students and people from nearby companies. I think if you order too early in advance they might make the sandwiches too far ahead of your scheduled pick-up time. The past few times I have ordered ahead the sandwiches have been very soggy and dripping in sauce and seemed like they were just sitting there a long...
Read moreAmazing quality! Tried them for the first time and tasted the huge quality difference between all other sandwich shops (Togo's, Subway, Jersey Mike's Subs). I'm definitely returning and gifting their gift cards for those who have a dairy allergy or follow a vegetarian diet. Tried the [Name of the Girl I'm Dating] sandwich. It was so well balanced, and can be made dairy-free if you swap the cheese with vegan cheese. Just an amazing shop.
Some feedback to the business owner: The menu is overwhelming with a lot of extra nonsensical numbers perhaps simplifying it will make it more palatable. Next, the street signage is covered by the city's trees, perhaps petitioning to have the trees trimmed such that it allows the commercial signage to have visibility will help increase brand presence Thank you for the birthday free sandwich program! It's...
