This was our first time at El Papa’s and WOW! When they say everything is prepared in house, they mean everything down to the beans, rice, and chips. My husband got the burrito frito with beef and it had wonderful flavor with heat that was subtle, but it was there. The chili con queso just added another layer of deliciousness and warmth you’re usually searching for with Mexican cuisine. I got the Mar Fajitas and the seafood was very fresh with generous portions. The veggies, rice and beans were also fresh and not overloaded with oil, which I’ve had at other places that I didn’t like. My one note with my dish would be that my seafood needed the smallest touch of seasoning. We got a pitcher of the Gold Margarita, which was also very fresh and you could tell they don’t use any of the premade stuff or gross sour mix. If they did add a hint more citrus to liven it up I wouldn’t have minded. We ordered churros and they were a slam dunk of excellence to end our meal. Our server was super friendly and attentive with good menu suggestions. Bathrooms are also nice and clean. We will definitely be back to try other dishes! Thank you for a...
Read moreI very rarely leave reviews on places I go. But it is very rare in a post-COVID world that you go to a new restaurant and are completely blown away. This place is so so good. Our family went for the first time this week.
The food was phenomenal. The prices are extremely fair. You get the feeling they care more about making quality food than making an extra buck off their customers
The atmosphere is authentic. A lot of new Mexican restaurants today kind of seem lazily put together. Not El Papa’s. You’ll notice the second you walk through the door
Lastly, the service was fantastic! Our servers could not have been more friendly. We took our toddler and she was trying to win a stuffed animal on their claw game. We unsuccessfully went back to our table. A few minutes later our servers came back to our table and gave our daughter the stuffed animal she was trying to win!
The only way you get quality service and quality food at fair prices is if you truly care about your customers. We will definitely be back...
Read moreWhile I understand this is a new restaurant, it took seven minutes after we were seated for someone to approach us at the bar . Ordered a margarita and a beer. They did not ask what size and brought us a large beer automatically. The margarita was uninspiring. Their salsa is very heavy in cumin/pepper and not easy on the palate. Ordered cheese dip and it took some time for us to even get chips and salsa and another 5 minutes after server realized he forgot the cheese. Watched two customers fajitas come out of kitchen - not sizzling, not steaming . 8 minutes later they take our order. No one followed up. No one came for a second drink order. No one brought or offered water. The rice had no seasoning, the beans were mediocre. The chimichanga was middle of the road. After our initial visit, there is no reason to return. El Papas will need to step up their game to compete with many more tasty...
