I'm really bummed about this review Im about to write. But after sitting on this for a couple hours Im gonna do it.
I came in for Breakfast with my family this morning. Myself, Baby, & BF. Everything was GREAT - Employees were nice, food was staple Diner food. It was small, but quant. We had never been but Flurys had been recommended to me before - so 1st timers.
Baby was happy, a little too much so, so I took the Pterodactyl outside to walk while we waited for our order. When food arrived (which was fairly quick) we came back in and sat. Dad ate his meal while I occupied baby with some scrambled eggs/hashbrowns. When dad finished, it was my turn. He ended up taking the baby outside to walk so I could have my meal in peace.
This is the part that really sucked. I had barely been at the table by myself for long - essentially long enough for them to run our card & me to calculate a tip (dont worry, I tipped over 20%) before they asked me to move to the two top next to my table. I was mid toast bite....literally had my toast in my mouth...
She asked me to move so that a 4 top could take my table. wanted me to move my diaper bag, my stroller out from under the table, my beverage, my nearly empty plate 1 foot away... she even picked up my plate and moved it before I could get a proper sentence out.
I just grabbed my stuff and left. All I wanted was to finish my toast. I was already eating quickly bc my baby & BF were walking around outside waiting for me. I felt like a spectacle trying to grab all our gear by myself and hurry out the door.
I even was wondering if we were there for longer than we thought. My ring doorbell clocked us leaving our house at 10:05 AM (We live relatively close) & it was 10:55 AM when we got back into our car from Flurys (we parked in deck a few doors down) - so we DEFINITELY weren't camping out.
My BF even mentioned that the people that took our table had just walked past him a few moments prior to my coming outside. so they weren't reallying waiting for an extended period of time.
I was honestly SHOCKED by the interaction. I was so dumbfounded that I wasn't sure if I should be mad or not. But I'm just disappointed. This was our first experience & it was great up until we paid the bill. But I felt like the moment that bill was paid & tip was input I was treated like I was in their way. ( which would've been understandable if I was camping at my table - but again, that wasn't the case). I don't believe we'll be back...
Read moreThe food is great and I mean really great, But the service is probably some of the worst I’ve ever received. When I arrived in the café, I specifically asked if I could sit at a booth and was told no. They tried making me sit at the countertop, which I really didn’t feel comfortable with since I planned on doing an activity while I ate since I was there alone. They refused to allow me to sit at the booth however, and made me sit in a chair at a table in the back, which Felt very cramped, Even after I specifically asked for the booth and there was literally only one other party in the entire restaurant. They rushed me the entire time I was there, like I was an inconvenience, kept topping off my coffee the second I took a sip- which would be fine if I took it black, but when I take it with cream and sugar and you KEEP diluting the flavor I just spent 5 minutes getting right the second I put my cup down, it’s kindof more than a little annoying. And I mean it was the literal second my cup was put down. Then when I went to the bathroom, I was only half way through my food. (2 pieces of French toast and I’d only eaten one), they took my plate away while I was in the bathroom! Didn’t ask if I was done, didn’t ask if I wanted a box. Just took HALF of my food away and didn’t let me finish! Genuinely, worst service I’ve ever received, hands down from wait staff. It’s almost like they were annoyed I was there, or that I was a party of one and were trying to get me to leave the...
Read moreThe staff was very nice. The restaurant is small, but it was clean. I felt comfortable. They had smooth jazz playing. When I place my order initially, I ordered sausage gravy and biscuits with hash browns. It's didn't take long to come out. Unfortunately, this meal did not please my palette. On this occasion the gravy was very bland and weirdly had what seemed to be a cheesy consistency. The hash browns were dry. My meal came with eggs, I ordered them over medium. They poured the gravy on top of them. Needless to say, I was a little perplexed. I didn't think I would be able to stomach that meal, so they very kindly offered me to make another choice. I ordered the bacon, eggs and toast. This came out better by far. They have a menu for loose teas. I can't remember the flavor that I purchased, but it was good. I was given a nice amount. I was able to fill my tea cup twice easy. One think I observed was that the waiter, though very kind, chose to was her invisilign (sp?) teeth set at the sink in the dining area and sat them on the counter where I think you can also eat. That kinda disgusted me, but I turned a blind eye and continued my meal. Ultimately I think would give this business another try, this was my first time there and I do understand that not all days are...
