Get your cakes somewhere else: I ordered a 12 inch square peanut butter ho ho cake for a large party. The chocolate cake was dry (either over-baked or stale), the peanut butter filling was coupled with buttercream filling and was nearly non-existent peanut butter. The white icing on the cake was nearly ¾ of an inch thick and way too thick for even an icing lover. I had personally gone in to discuss decorating on the cake with the cake decorator that was supposed to make the cake. After much discussion and her taking many notes, the cake was not decorated as we had discussed, though I wasn’t the person picking it up so I couldn’t give feedback immediately.. In the past when I have ordered cakes from Pallottas, there wasn’t any cake left because guests loved it so much that they even had additional pieces. This time was vastly different because there was a lot of cake thrown out. It seemed people had taken 2 bites and didn’t like it either. It was a huge disappointment after spending over $100 on a cake. I did call and speak to Mike the owner who reluctantly said that they “missed the mark” this time and reluctantly offered “a discount on the next cake that I ordered from them”. When I pressed him about how much of a discount that would be, he responded that it would depend on what I ordered. Not getting any satisfaction in the moment just added insult to injury. I won’t be returning back to Pallotta’s Bakery ever and I don't believe that any of the 30 guests at my event will used them for a cake either. I don’t need to run across town when there are bakeries that are local to me that actually deliver on what they promise. This certainly wasn’t the experience that I had expected from a bakery that I had used for events for the...
Read moreI was told by a few people to check them out for a wedding cake. We searched their website, reviews, photos and everything was great! We were pretty set on wanting to use them for our wedding in October. Excited to go there and check it out! When we got there and I mentioned wanting to get information about wedding cakes, we were told they're not doing wedding cakes at the moment and they may be doing them come October. I asked when they'd know if they would be doing them or not. I was told to call about a month before to check. With a wedding cake you need to know more than a month in advance. We were definitely disappointed after all the good reviews. We did get a couple cupcakes to try since we'd never been there. But honestly the other place we ended up going were even better, and cheaper. And the people were way nicer and welcoming. I don't think we'll be...
Read moreNever again for me! Sorry to say but I had a disappointing experience. Ordered a cassata cake with strawberries and got another version with a thin layer of strawberry cream and a thin layer of custard. No strawberries in sight! Not a cassata cake by traditional definition. Very shocked when I cut into it. Cake was average to good at best. Not spectacular, but disappointing from the start as it was not what I ordered. Called the bakery and spoke to the manager/owner who refused to take responsibility for the error. Offered me $3-4 off my next cake. No thanks! Corbos in Cleveland Ohio blows this place away. ...
