A&W Restaurant — Restaurant in Dallas

I will say that I may have found a new fast food place to visit from time to time. In the past I've always over looked this place simply because it's not one of the main burger places a lot of people are aware of. This was my experience:

Place Has a diner look to it. Looked clean. I didn't go into the bathroom, so I'm not sure about that.

Patrons The people who visit here seem like nice people, but the way they speak can come off as rude. However, being familiar with this environment I knew people were just wanting to get everything they wanted, which is understandable.

Food I had the AW1 combo with an upgrade to the Root beer shake and a side of cheese curds. Everything tasted good! The cheese curds are a lot (about 8oz of cheese) for the regular size. The float was really good and had a slight caramel flavor to it. Burger was made to order. I didn't finish all my food, it was a lot lol

Employees The person who I assume to be the manager (a heavyset lady) took my order. She was nice and explain what the cheese curds were, which made me want to try them. However it seems that the younger associates were lacking training. She had to direct one young man to mop up the floor from a spilt drink; to another young lady in the cooking area she mentions some things, and to the girl with braids not to say certain things out loud.

Overall it was good and I'll be sure to visit AW again...

My order took way too long for what I ordered.. I ordered the papa burger combo and a salad.. no modifiers or anything... let me start with the time... there was only 1 table sitting inhouse, there was no line at the drive thru, it was just myself and a truck whos order also took an eternity as well to produce. Total time for my food was 22 minutes... is that acceptable? .. absolutely not.. I can see why people don't come here anymore. They didn't have any root beer.. how in the heck can you not have what is in the title of your establishment??!! that was literally the only reason I even wanted to go there was bc I had not had an A&W in years. My burger was missing tomatoes and lettuce.. it straight up looked like a childrens cheeseburger and the fries were in that kids size baggie thing.. I never ordered a kids meal... not even sure if they have that. There was no apology for the wait either. I should have checked my bag before I left but I was just over it at that point after waiting so long. Definitely never coming here again - gone are the good days of A&W/Long...

Let me start by saying I'm no burger connoisseur, but I like a good burger, and this is one of the best I ever had. I don't visit many fru-fru burger joints, so I can't compare. But if you like a solid, basic burger at a good price, try this place! I almost got up to order another one, but the first one with fries filled me up nicely. And though the fries were good, I can hardly wait to come back and try their onion rings. They also have fried cheese curds, which I'm not to sure about, but I'll try anything once.

Oh, this space is also shared with a Long John Silvers, so you can pick up some fish too...
