After being an occasional customer, I will never be eating here again.
My friends and I went there to eat on a Sunday morning. A couple of them had just returned from over-seas travel, so we were excited to see them and planned to chat as well as eat. We arrived, and were quickly given a table.
We were assigned a waitress, who was large in body and personality, very condescending, short mannered, and always looking for shortcuts to make her job easier. She asked us to order multiple times, even after we said we were waiting for some one. She was rude when reaching in to grab drinks and bringing by food, often asking us questions when our mouths were full, expecting a response, repeating the same question multiple times, when we clearly could not answer because there was food in our mouths. She repeatedly spilled on the table, and lacked any kind of professionalism and pleasantry.
Finally we were done, and she brought by a check with 6 entrees together (although we were all paying separately). Upon going to the cashier, our waitress asked if we would just split up the check six ways. This was a horrible suggestion, as some of us had only coffee, while others had full meals. We asked that she split up the bill, and were met with contempt. After arguing for a few minutes she decided to do her job, and actually split up the check.
At this point we were given the bill. Already perturbed by the service, we scrutinized our bills to make sure we were not overcharged. We were overcharged, and were given a 20% blind gratuity to our bills, that were not displayed on the receipts. Horrified, we expressed that we had already left a 15% cash tip on the table. After a long argument, we were given a refund for the 20% charge.
This is borderline theft, as we were given no explanation for this hidden charge, and had already left a nice tip on the table in cash (despite poor service). This restaurant took advantage of the public trust. I wonder how many people leave tips, not knowing that they were ALREADY charged for a 20% tip. This is a restaurant I will never...
Read moreSat at a booth very close to where the servers were standing and speaking Spanish. Server finally came and I said we wanted coffee in Spanish. She answered in English. I’m fine with that. We told her in English then for just little more time. We later ordered and another lady brought us our food. She was dress in pink. She did not say enjoy your meal etc. I later tried to get our regular server for a straw. Place it on the table and did not say if we needed anything else. We each had one small napkin so I ask her if we could have more napkins. Never showed up so I was going to get up and go ask for napkins. She saw me and finally gave us 2 measly napkins. Not once did she come to ask us if we needed something else. She did come with coffee once but not friendly. She must hate her job. Not a friendly place to eat. Worse server we ever encounter. They need to be trained. Go to Highland Village and super servers, Tipico Mex restaurant beats this server 100 per cent. They are always serving you coffee, food, coming to your table if you need something else etc. They don’t have time to be chatting, etc . Customers always come first. This place has change because they use to be friendly, etc etc. liked coming here...
Read moreI've been eating here for over 5 years and it's never disappointing. They deliver to my office which means I often eat here multiple times a week. Jey, who answers the phones and runs the register is absolutely AMAZING. She took over for a woman who wasn't as nice and the entire delivery experience is 100 times better. She knows everything I like and has memorized any small change I make to my food; if I like something well done, if I don't like a certain topping on something etc. Their breakfast is awesome too. I love their biscuits! Fajita tacos, Hawaiian chicken, veggies (I often get a veggie plate), enchiladas, fajita salad and their desserts are great too. Highland Park can get busy at lunch and parking isn't great so it's nice to have their big area to park in or if you're like me and work 9-10 hours straight a day, a restaurant who delivers breakfast or lunch! My husband and daughter are now fans of Angela's too. My daughter comes to work with me on school holidays and random summer days so my husband will pick our daughter up for lunch, they always pick Angela's. We send patients there too. Great little cafe with a little bit...
