C Rolls Sushi — Restaurant in Dallas

C Rolls Sushi makes awesome sushi rolls that you should try. It has been a favorite of mine since I discovered it about 19 years ago. Yes. It has been there that long. I have enjoyed watching their evolution. Believe it or not they have never made a bad meal in all of this time. This is my first review.

I started things off with some Yellowtail and Smoked Salmon Sashimi. This was my first time trying yellowtail. It was interesting. It had a very suttle taste with a hint of lemon (that I liked. Next time I will request that they slice it thinner. Just my preference.

I moved onto The Mexican Roll. Another first. It was spectacular! This is a cooked roll made of crab meat, avocado, cucumber, shrimp inside, topped with avocado and amazu sauce. My first bite had me seeing fireworks because it was magically delicious. I did also order fried rice. It was pretty bland to me. I like to taste flavor in my fried rice. I would not order it again. The sushi will make you forget the rice lol.

The only drawback to my meal was that the bar was out of Plum Wine. That is my go to drink when eating sushi. Since the food was so good, I’m willing to overlook it this time 😉.

Place is clean, staff was friendly, food is hardly edible. I’m not knocking it but……

I’d bring kids here so they don’t get the real appreciation for good sushi and break the bank when they say they want sushi for dinner. This would be a one and done for them.

Got a chicken bento box. Frozen friend chicken strips with a teriyaki sauce on it. I don’t eat chicken McNuggets, but I know I can choke them down if I’m hungry enough. That’s what these were like. The spring roll?? I guess that what it was looked like a hot pocket cut into quarters. The California Roll that came with the bento box, generic, bland, stuffed with your imitation crab meat, awful.

I got the Japanese Cucumber Sushi Roll. It looks okay, it was okay, and that’s being kind.

I ate all my food. I was hungry but man, I’m hurting after. Just not satisfied, and I feel like all I ate was packaged frozen food so I’m bloated with cotton mouth.

I have ordered to go from here once before and the sushi was good, but I just now picked up a DoorDash order from here and was disgusted by what I saw in the kitchen. There’s an area in the dining room I believe at the sushi counter where you can see back into the kitchen through a curtain. While I was waiting I heard a loud sneeze from back there and caught a man in a green shirt sneezing with his arms wide open, nothing covered, everywhere. I next saw him take off his hat and scratch his head then go back to preparing rice with no gloves. I alerted one of the girls working, she had glasses and I believe blue tinsel in her hair. She did apologize and told me that he doesn’t do that when they’re back there, he shouldn’t do it all! I likely won’t be ordering from there again, that is some huge points off for sanitation in my book. I only wish I had gotten a picture but this was around 12:30, hopefully there are cameras so it...
