My favorite taco spot in DFW. Delicious, Consistent, and Fun!
Have always enjoyed them at their original location on harry Hines. This location has a tad more space, but also has cocktails and churros (the original doesn’t have those. Legacy food hall location has margs. They also have a location in ATT food hall downtown).
The decor / branding is spot on. They did a phenomenal job keeping consistency with the locations but also allowing each location (4 total) to have its own flare.
The tortillas are fantastic - both corn and flour. Handmade and tasty. The salsas are some of my favorite anywhere…3 kinds, some are spicier than others and I love them all :) great flavor and depth.
I can’t pick a favorite taco. They’re all good. Can’t go wrong. Got to come check them out for their soft opening (official opening is 9/16) and tried 5 different tacos. Al pastor is always excellent and comes off a trompo (unlike some others). The costra is great…I mean who doesn’t love fried cheese (inside a taco- good on the flour tortilla). This location is also doing a ribeye taco , a little more expensive than their normal menu but worth it, very delicious.
The churros were great! You can get churro bites or a churro ice cream sandwich. And you can watch them make it right there.
The drinks were all fantastic. Can get a passion-fruit margarita in a pouch (very good). They also had a frozen swirl marg, micheladas, Paloma’s, etc. and a very instagramable and tasty carajillo drink with a paleta in it.
Fun vibes all around. And most importantly very good tacos. Highly recommend chilangos and their new location here...
Read moreThe in store & online menu clearly states that breakfast tacos are served from 7 to 11 AM on Monday-Friday, but when I visited on a Sunday at 9AM, I was told they only serve breakfast from 9 to 10 AM, which isn’t stated on the menu or website. After being told this, I was at the counter trying to decide if I wanted to order breakfast tacos instead of waiting until 10AM, the staff member, Angelly, rudely walked away and started bagging tortilla chips on the other side of the restaurant while I stood at the counter. This was incredibly rude and unprofessional.
After 10 AM, I returned to place my order and ended up waiting 25 minutes for my food while watching others who ordered after me get their orders first. I even saw a DoorDash driver pick up food that had a ticket printed at 10:22 AM, even though I had ordered at 10:00 AM. I can’t help but feel I was treated differently after the earlier situation with Angelly.
I expect better service from Chilangos, as I have never had an issue with the staff before. Angelly needs an attitude check, and if she doesn’t like helping customers, she should find a job that doesn’t involve the public. She is not a good first point of contact for customers, and her behavior and attitude were completely unacceptable. As a loyal customer who comes here every week, this experience was very disappointing.
Chilangos needs to clearly display their breakfast hours on both the menu and their website so customers aren’t caught off guard or wasting their time expecting their usual options, only to be told they’re unavailable due to breakfast being sold. This was extremely...
Read moreWow! I can't say enough good things about this incredible Chilangos street taco restaurant. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with the tantalizing aroma of authentic Mexican spices and the warm, inviting atmosphere. The staff was incredibly friendly and eager to help navigate the mouthwatering menu.
The star of the show, of course, was the pastor tacos themselves. Each bite was a burst of flavor that transported me straight to the streets of Mexico. The meats were perfectly seasoned and grilled to perfection, and the tortillas were an absolute game-changer. The variety of salsas and toppings provided the perfect finishing touch to these delectable tacos.
What truly set this restaurant apart, however, was the attention to detail and commitment to quality. Every aspect of the experience, from the fresh ingredients to the artful presentation, spoke to the passion and expertise of the chefs. It's clear that they take great pride in their craft, and it shines through in every dish they serve.
I can't wait to return to this gem of a restaurant and savor those incredible street tacos once again. If you're a fan of authentic, mouthwatering Mexican cuisine, do yourself a favor and pay a visit – you won't be...
